Vince McMahon runs WWE the way he wants to and sees all other companies in his space as the enemy. He would really like to be the only player in the game, but that just can’t happen.

AEW is making a lot of noise and they are certainly on WWE’s radar at this point. If Triple H’s “pissant” comments during the WWE Hall Of Fame weren’t indication enough of that then I don’t know what could be.

The fact is that nobody knows what Vince McMahon is really thinking, after all, McMahon himself is known to change his own mind several times before following through with a creative decision. However, as Jim Ross spoke to Busted Open Radio he was able to provide an idea about how McMahon might feel about this new budding pro wrestling competitor.

“I do not know that he is concerned about anybody. I really doubt it. He is bulletproof in that regard. The worst mistake AEW can make is trying to chase WWE. We do not need to chase them. I’m sure there is a financial concern. I asked about an undercard guy in WWE that helps the other guys learn and they said he was not available because he just signed a new WWE deal for $500K. Not because he would be used but just to keep him off the streets.”

Vince McMahon hasn’t seen AEW directly go after WWE’s revenue yet, but then again the company seems to be slipping in that regard anyway. McMahon might want to blame Superstar absences, but it was very easy to see through that comment as the stocks slid down fast.

Jim Ross knows a thing or two about the pro wrestling world so he understands that AEW is a long way off from toppling WWE in the slightest so there’s no need to chase them. However, if they stay the course, they very well might be treading in the same waters soon enough.
