NXT Referee Tom Castor Releases Statement After Injuring Himself During Match

Tom Castor really impressed a lot of people on Thursday night because during a match between The Velveteen Dream and Tyler Breeze, the NXT referee broke his ankle and it was quite gruesome to watch. No matter how intense the scene was, he still finished the match.

Castor’s NXT co-workers put him over in a big way with a video message for their fallen comrade. He will be missed, but now Castor needs to focus on healing up.

The brave NXT referee released a statement on Instagram where he not only thanked everyone for the support, but he also had a chance to share his thoughts on the matter after some reflection.

I sincerely want to thank the WWE Universe and all the NXT/WWE Superstars for their kind words and positive vibes. It’s been heartwarming and humbling to say the least. Hopefully, Tom Castor will be able to get his ankle fixed up and get back to being a referee very soon. After that kind of display showing his passion for the pro wrestling business it could have done him a truckload of favors with the higher ups too.
