X-Pac begins today’s show by noting that CM Punk apparently made his return to the wrestling ring this past weekend wearing a mask at an indie show. This might signal Punk’s return to the wrestling business, because even though he’s been adamant that he’s done with wrestling, history shows that eventually most performers return to the ring.

He also doesn’t think Punk was/is lying when he says he’s done with the business. Things change and just because you feel one way at a certain period of time doesn’t mean you’ll feel that way a few years down the road.

Punk reserves the right to change his mind here, and X-Pac thinks it’s only a matter of time before he returns to the business, even if it’s not until he’s 50 years old. X-Pac notes that Punk certainly could show up in AEW, which would be a huge boost for that company.

Bray Wyatt returned to WWE programming this week with a new, interesting gimmick. X-Pac thought this return was done very well and he’s excited to see where WWE takes it from here. He notes that the debut of the original Bray Wyatt character was terrific as well, and that speaks to the talent of Wyatt himself. He notes that Wyatt appears to be in great shape too.

WWE made a change to the Viking Experience’s name again this week, naming them the Viking Raiders moving forward. X-Pac thinks this name is way better, but he doesn’t think it will appease the WWE Universe. He notes that WWE has big plans for these two talents, and are preparing to shoot some footage with them in the upcoming weeks.

He says their name is not what’s most important here. WWE’s ability to write good creative and the ability of these two men to get that over is what’s most important. X-Pac jokes that vikings don’t have spray tans, so maybe they should hold off on that moving forward.

He adds that right up until the went through the curtain for their debut on RAW, WWE was considering calling them The Berzerkers and he thought that would have been a great name.

It was announced this week that Dustin Rhodes will be facing Cody Rhodes at AEW’s Double or Nothing show. X-Pac thinks this is great and is looking forward to seeing the match because Dustin can still go in the ring. He’s known Dustin since he was 15 years old and wishes him nothing but the best.

He notes that Dustin has overcome a lot in his life, and this is a massive match. He thinks AEW could have shot an angle for this bout and then scheduled the match for their next show which would have given the build more time to breath. Nonetheless, it should be a great match.

X-Pac thinks AEW will announce more signings once they have their television deal in place. Some critics are already suggesting that AEW is buying time, but he doesn’t think that’s the case at all. He notes that everyone involved in that company are serious about making an impact, and they have a history of success with the quick sellouts of their first two shows.

NWA’s Crockett Cup Tag Team Tournament will take place this upcoming weekend and X-Pac is looking forward to the presentation, especially with all the old-school NWA graphics. He thinks Nick Aldis and Marty Scurll will have a great match for the NWA Title.

X-Pac congratulates Pro Wrestling Tees for paying out over $5 Million in royalties to wrestlers so far. He thinks they’ve played a big part in the health of the business over the last few years and he tips his hat to them.

X-Pac welcomes RVD to the show.

RVD notes that his new documentary, Headstrong, was initially supposed to be based around his comedy tour. Unfortunately on the first day of the tour he started having concussion symptoms from a match the night before. He thought the symptoms would go away and he wanted keep plans in order for the documentary, but the symptoms didn’t go away and the film took on a life of its own.

He says the bump the caused this concussion wasn’t even that bad, but when he got up he was dizzy and had double vision. He waited in the backstage area while everyone left, hoping that his vision would improve but it didn’t. He had to drive home with one eye closed in order to see straight.

X-Pac recalls wrestling years ago and getting knocked out every single night. RVD tells the same horror stories. They both admit that as they get older they fear that their history of head trauma could catch up with them.

RVD says he doesn’t want to be the guy to tell young performers how to work. He thinks it’s important that they all are informed, and if they’re informed and they still want to take a chair shot to the head that’s up to them.

He notes that he doesn’t blame anyone or any promotion for his concussion history. He can recall starting to work for WWE and Vince McMahon came up to him and told him to get his hands up for chair shots. RVD was reluctant but McMahon was adamant. RVD will never forget that, and notes that anyone who blames McMahon for their concussion issues are out of line.

RVD says he’s very proud of this film and is happy to see the film is getting great reviews thus far. He recently signed an agreement with Impact wrestling and is looking forward to starting work with that company soon. X-Pac thinks that’s a great signing for Impact, and he thinks it’s a great fit for RVD as well.

That sums up this week’s episode of X-Pac 1, 2, 360. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
