After a lot of speculation and being trapped in character development purgatory, Bray Wyatt finally returned to RAW this week, but this is not the same man we once knew.

Now instead of telling people to “follow the buzzards,” Wyatt greets them with a smile and has a completely different demeanor as host of his own children’s show. The fans have really reacted to The Firefly Fun House in a big way and the general opinion is that WWE has something that people want to see more of.

This incredibly interesting character change might not see him announcing to fans that they should”follow the buzzards,” but there is still a buzzard on the Firefly Fun House named Mercy.

Bray Wyatt’s original cult leader gimmick was often thought to be a huge ode to Waylon Mercy, a character that was ahead of its time in a lot of ways. You can watch a Waylon Mercy promo below. The fact that WWE named Bray Wyatt’s buzzard “Mercy” all but confirms one of the biggest inspirations behind the Eater Of World’s gimmick. However, now it looks like Wyatt has a new source of inspiration.

This segment is still getting a lot of buzz and hopefully, WWE will be able to follow it up with something even better. Wyatt teased the next day that the gimmick is either canceled or possibly there is more in store. It is keeping us guessing which is exactly what Bray Wyatt needs to be doing.
