Roman Reigns won his match against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 35, but it was not a spectacular contest. The fans were tired and some were critical about the performance. Then Reigns didn’t even show up the next night on RAW.

Brad Shepard said on Oh, You Didn’t Know that the reason why WWE kept Roman Reigns off RAW was due to the fact that they weren’t certain how he would be received. After all, they need him to keep getting those cheers, but the honeymoon phase might be over when it comes to Reigns’ return.

“There actually was not a lot of crowd reaction during his match with Drew [at WrestleMania]. I think a lot of that had to do with frankly a situation in the crowd — I’m not trying to be rude — but they intentionally kept him off of TV and RAW.”

“Now, of course, they did the after RAW moment with Dean and Seth, but that’s why they kept him off they didn’t want him to — you know the RAW after Mania crowd is brutal. Look what they did… they crapped all over Kofi Kingston and I’m gonna get into that in a minute because that’s f*cking bullsh*t and this is exactly what WWE deserves.”

To be fair, there was massive fight in the crowd during Roman vs Drew at WrestleMania and the crowd in the upperdeck was trying to get the wave started and then they would boo at those people who decided not to participate.

So it wasn’t all Roman Reigns’ fault, but WWE still kept him backstage during the RAW just in case.
