The Conor McGregor/pro wrestling rumours continue to intensify, and as was expected, AEW star Chris Jericho has decided to get involved after the Irishman criticised his ‘champ champ’ status.

Following his ‘retirement’ from mixed martial arts, there have been a series of rumours regarding what Conor might decide to do next. He’s always teased the possibility of a switch over into pro wrestling, and given his recent activity on social media, that doesn’t seem like too much of an ‘out there’ idea.

Of course, whilst he would almost certainly go straight to the top with WWE, All Elite Wrestling is always going to be there – at least for the foreseeable future.

In addition to probably being genuinely a bit annoyed about McGregor’s tweet, Y2J is well aware of the fact that a debate like this is bound to do good things for AEW. Sure, it isn’t going to be the catalyst behind their success or anything like that, but it plants a seed of doubt in the mind of fans regarding where Conor could end up.

Jericho is set to main event AEW’s upcoming Double or Nothing show against Kenny Omega, which will serve as a rematch from their Wrestle Kingdom match last year.

Conor, on the other hand, continues to be linked with everyone under the sun from pro wrestling to MMA and beyond. A lot of people believe that his work in the Octagon isn’t done quite yet, but if it is, then WWE could easily be on the horizon.
