Triple H finally gave Batista what he wanted and they had a war at WrestleMania 35. Batista did not win that match in MetLife Stadium, but there will not be another round. Because The Animal is hanging up his wrestling boots for good.

Following his WrestleMania defeat to Triple H, Dave Bautista announced on social media that his days in the ring are done, but he wanted to make sure to thank everyone for the incredible ride.

@WWEUniverse Thank you for letting me entertain you. I love this business and whether you cheered me or jeered me, I’m grateful for being a small part of your life. I am officially retired from sports entertainment and I am grateful for every second of my amazing journey

Batista doesn’t have to wrestle anymore. He has one high profile movie role after another and since James Gunn is back with Guardians Of The Galaxy, Drax The Destroyer doesn’t have to threaten to quit that franchise either.

Batista won’t be going away as he’ll be in movies all of the time and a WWE Hall Of Fame induction is very likely now, but his in-ring career is done following this year’s show of shows.
