The AAF is no more. It didn’t take long, but the league lost $70 million. Now there are a bunch of talented football players who are out of work.

Paul Fair is a recruiter for the WWE Performance Center and Director of Talent Development. He recently announced that they are opening up two spots in the upcoming April tryouts for AAF players. Obviously, WWE is looking for crossover athletes and they see this as a great opportunity to get some people who are recently out of work.

RT: W/ the bad news coming out today for the players involved w/ #AAF, I’m opening up 2 spots to our April @WWE Tryout. Any player open to exploring opportunities beyond FB can complete a profile at http://www.wweperformancecenter.com  & enter #AnotherDoorOpens in the “Referred By” section.

I will review all profiles over the next 48 hrs and choose 2 players to invite. All other applicants will continue to be considered for future tryouts. Let’s GO!!!

This just proves that sometimes when a door closes, WWE will open an even better window to climb through. You never know who could be trying out later this month that recently got some bad news that their football dreams were dashed.

If anything, it could certainly make it easier for the XFL when the time comes to recruit players.

Thanks to Bodyslam.net for passing this along
