Sonya Deville On Representing The LGBTQ Community At WrestleMania

Sonya Deville is proud to be who she is. She has not hidden the fact that she is a lesbian since accidentally coming out of the closet on Tough Enough. Since then, she has enjoyed every moment of her ride as WWE Superstar as she is able to spread her message of positivity.

While speaking to Asbury Park Press, Sonya Deville spoke about how much it means to her to represent a different demographic as a WWE Superstar.

Being a part of the LGBTQ community myself, it’s another passion of mine to let my fan base know that I represent another demographic in the WWE, and we are diverse and it’s OK to be you. And that’s kind of another message I’d like to spread while I have this platform.

Sonya Deville will be competing in the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal at the show of shows this Sunday. This might not be the most high profile match and nothing compared to her initial spot on the card, but she will use that opportunity to continue showing that she wants to be the best in WWE. At the same time she is utilizing her platform to share her own story and we couldn’t be any happier for her.
