Rob Gronkowski recently announced his retirement from the NFL after winning another Super Bowl. This made headlines, but WWE fans were especially interested because there are big rumors that he could be WWE bound.

Dave Meltzer opened up about this on Wrestling Observer Radio. He said that there hasn’t been any communication yet that he is aware of. However, WWE isn’t likely to turn down talks with the former New England Patriot.

“I haven’t heard anything, but I’m sure it’s been talked about, yeah. It’s only natural. If [Gronk] wants to do it, he’ll do it. It’s not like they’re not gonna… if he’s interested and if there’s communication — if he wants to do it, he’ll do it for sure. It’s good publicity for them. You know he got good pub the last time he did it.”

It was noted that Gronk coming to WWE might be more newsworthy now than ever since he just announced his retirement from the NFL. There could also be acting aspirations for Gronkowski, but WWE can certainly help with that as well seeing how they have their own film studio.
