SummerSlam is getting people pretty excited in the Toronto area. That fan base is very passionate about pro wrestling and they are not shy at all about making their opinions known. They also had to pay a hefty price for their SummerSlam tickets, especially for those in the front row who put up the cash for “Platinum” tickets.

It was previously reported that SummerSlam ticket prices are really expensive this year, however, the event has sold out. There was a reason for why some tickets were listed at $2,300, but it’s not WWE’s fault.

We were sent information from a reader who informed us that this is actually a practice of Ticketmaster instead of WWE.

“The prices quoted are Platinum tickets, where Ticket Master temporarily jacks up the price based on demand, but once those tickets are released back into the pool, they come back down to the list value.”

This reader also informed us that he bought 5th-row tickets for $500 and front row are expected to go back down to around $700. The upper deck seats are still around $170 a pop after fees and possibly even more. So it’s still not a cheap ticket. However, this should clear up some of the reason why those front row seats were $2,300.
