WWE is sports entertainment and with that comes the need to cut promos to hype an angle and interviews to build their characters. Fans are becoming more jaded and aware of what is really going on. Therefore, the company has needed to devise a few tactics in order to get around this issue.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE has adopted an apparent change in the way they deal with promos and interviews. They are going with a new direction to base their characters more on reality than something worked.

“There was a notable change in the interview style, with interviews more based on reality than scripted soliloquies that nobody in real life would say.”

“Coming off the reality-based twitter stuff with Lynch and Rousey and others have since copied because the company believes it’s been a huge success”

Vince McMahon came out on Raw a few months ago and promised that a New Era was upon us. This could be a sign of that change. The success of Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch’s social media feud has certainly helped change their tactics as well.
