WWE’s plans for the 2020 edition of the show of shows will see the big event emanate from Tampa Florida. A lot of fans are wondering why WWE is going back to Florida for a WrestleMania event when they were just in Orlando a couple of years ago, there is a reason and it has to do with Vince McMahon’s other side project.

F4WOnline reports that Tampa was given the WrestleMania 36 event due to Vince McMahon’s connection to the city through the XFL. Former NFL Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman was recently announced as head coach for the XFL’s Tampa team this week.

Tampa got the show because of a relationship with WWE over the new XFL, which I guess shows the idea they were two completely separate entities is a little overblown.

Tampa Florida will be a fine WrestleMania host. The Amalie Arena will house the WWE Hall Of Fame and NXT TakeOver: Tampa events as well as RAW and SmackDown Live. Of course, SmackDown will be taking place on a Friday, so the odds are that the Friday before Mania weekend is when the blue brand will broadcast their show from Tampa.
