Paige is the main focus of Fighting With My Family hitting theaters nationwide on February 22nd, 2019. The film tells the story of her famous wrestling family and how she arrived in WWE, but Paige has been wrestling for practically her entire life.

Before Paige was the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion, she started wrestling at a very young age. While speaking to People, Paige revealed how unexpected her first match was. After that, it was nothing but wrestling for her.

“One of the girls didn’t turn up for a show. My dad was like, ‘Get in the ring. You have to fill in tonight.’ I was like, ‘Uh, okay.’ And then as soon as I walked out of the curtain and into the ring, I just fell in love with it. I was like, yup, this is what I want to do.”

Paige discussed how her concentration on professional wrestling kept her from having a social life. It was hard to make friends because of how people viewed the art form she loved.

“I didn’t really have many friends back then. I just concentrated on wrestling so much. I realized I had to get friends and I had to not just concentrate on one thing. They thought it [wrestling] was different. They think it’s cooler now that I came over to America.”

Paige has plenty of friends now as so many members of the WWE Universe love her. Now with Fighting With My Family’s release it looks like she could have even more of a following.

Unfortunately, Paige had to retire extremely young due to spinal stenosis which could have a lot to do with how intensely she concentrated on her professional wrestling passion from such an early age.

There is no footage of her first professional wrestling match that we have seen, but we do have documentation of her last.
