Edge thinks this feud has to go all the way to WrestleMania. Kingston isn’t sure if that’s the plan or not, but he won’t complain about a Title shot at Fastlane because he hasn’t had a lot of these opportunities.
Kingston talks about the development of The New Day. He says Xavier Woods and Big E originally approached him and asked him if he wanted to form a faction with them which would focus on their unhappiness with their positions in the company. They debuted with that and he liked the direction, but after just a couple of weeks it was pulled.
They were then off air for nearly 6 months and in that time period they were in Vince McMahon’s office at least once per week for four months. Eventually McMahon pitched them the “preacher” gimmick and although they nodded in approval as he explained the idea, they all knew it wasn’t going to work.
When they debuted the fans were happy to see them back, but after a couple of weeks the fans started chanting “New Day sucks!” That went on for a while but after one especially hostile crowd, they went right to McMahon after their match and said they needed to talk.
