John Cena Booked For WWE WrestleMania With No Opponent

John Cena was supposed to feud with Lars Sullivan on the road to WrestleMania. WWE booked an angle where Sullivan was supposed to attack Cena and write him off of television. This segment never took place.

WWE had to instead write an impromptu angle where they blamed Cena’s absence on an ankle injury that they seemingly blamed on Drew McIntyre. Since then it seems as if Sullivan’s WrestleMania match against John Cena simply isn’t happening.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that John Cena is still booked for WrestleMania. However, he does not have a confirmed opponent.

With Cena’s current film project “Playing With Fire” wrapping up just six days prior to WrestleMania, WWE might need to figure something out that they can put together quickly. It is still possible to start something on social media or even on television without Cena present. We will just have to wait and see how WWE wants to go about this.
