During a recent interview with Charlotte Observer, WWE superstar Charlotte Flair opened up about the death of her brother Reid Flair.
Charlotte’s rise up through the ranks of WWE has been nothing short of phenomenal over the course of the last few years. She’s gone from being known as Ric Flair’s daughter and nothing more to creating her own legacy in this business.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the multi-time Women’s Champion, who had to deal with the death of her brother Reid back in 2013. Reid passed away due to a drug overdose at the age of 25.
“I wish I could say that I was over losing my brother, but I’m not,” said Flair. “I mean, I have so many regrets. … How did my brother never get to see me wrestle? … I ask myself that every single day: How am I here, where I am, and he never got to see me? This was his dream. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it.”Charlotte Flair discussing the death of her brother Reid
Dealing with the death of a family member is something that the majority of us will have to go through at some point during our lifetime, and it never gets any easier. Given the circumstances regarding his death it’s understandable that Charlotte still hasn’t come to terms with her loss, and even if she had, nobody can ever tell her how to handle this.
All we can do is applaud her for her honesty and willingness to speak about this issue.
