WWE Possibly “Looking For A Cheap Finish” In Elimination Chamber Title Match

WWE has a few interesting matches booked for the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Some finishes might surprise fans in Houston, but others remain to be seen.

The current betting odds lists Finn Balor vs Bobby Lashley (with Lio Rush) with very close numbers for Elimination Chamber. Balor is looking to become WWE Intercontinental Champion, but he must win a handicap match first.

Dave Meltzer discussed this interesting booking decision during Wrestling Observer Radio. He didn’t see much sense in WWE booking a handicap match so early in Lashley and Balor’s feud. Therefore, WWE might be looking for an easy way out of this one.

“If Bobby’s going to retain then it makes no [sense], you know because I thought the whole idea was for Finn to be able to beat Lio Rush and get the championship that way and avoid Bobby Lashley losing to Finn.”

“Obviously it could go either way, but I wouldn’t have booked — If it was like the fourth meeting down and Lio Rush had kept interfering so then Finn goes, ‘I want them in a handicap match,’ that’s one thing. When you start off in a handicap match rather than doing the big singles match that kinda tells me that you’re looking for a cheap finish.”

We will have to wait and see how WWE books their way out of this situation. It is very interesting how they seemed to accelerate this rivalry with the handicap stipulation.

If Balor picks up the IC Title in Houston at Elimination Chamber it will certainly be a great addition on his road to WrestleMania.
