Cody Rhodes is a Co-Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling, but he is far from retired from the ring. However, he won’t be wrestling for another two to three months after today.

Injuries happen when we least expect them and Cody felt something pop in his knee while he was simply teasing t-shirt throwing spot before a match. Rhodes revealed in November that his doctor gave him good news and bad news.

“GOOD news is my doctor is fairly confident that my mcl/pcl/acl are structurally sound.

BAD news is the meniscus is fairly damaged, gonna’ require a scope. No dates will be adjusted at the moment, and I’ll definitely still compete in the final battle main event & at WK.”

AEW CBO Brandi Rhodes revealed on social media this morning that doctors had just taken her husband back for surgery.

“They just took my love @CodyRhodes back for surgery. Hate being on the waiting end this time. But I know he’s going to feel so much better in time for #DoubleOrNothing”

Cody Rhodes completed his remaining ROH and NJPW dates and he has even been able to appear at indie shows and deliver a Crossroads a time or two. However, that activity will need to stop now because he is undergoing surgery today to repair his bad knee. This shouldn’t pose any risk to his participation in Double Or Nothing, but his match hasn’t even been announced yet.
