The Rock is a shoo-in for the WWE Hall Of Fame, but it hasn’t happened yet. WWE might not want to induct him for a couple of reasons, but it doesn’t change the fact that The People’s Champ is still waiting for the honor.

Brad Shepard discussed why The Rock isn’t in the WWE Hall Of Fame during Oh, You Didn’t Know and what WWE’s plans might be. It doesn’t seem like it’s happening this year so WWE could have other things in mind.

“There has been some speculation that The Rock will be going into the Hall Of Fame potentially and you know from what I’m told that doesn’t appear to be the case this year.”

“I think they want to do more with him first. You know, they would obviously love to have him wrestle which is gonna be really difficult to do because he’s got a really busy movie schedule and when you’re an actor in Hollywood you’ve got insurance policies because the movie studios take out insurance policies on you and you’re not allowed to do something that may risk the timing of filming the movie. So that’s a difficult thing which is why he can’t do a full match but he can do the thing where he comes in and gave Erick Rowan a Rock Bottom and beat him in five seconds.”

“You know so he’s really limited. so they want to do more with him first. So [a HOF induction] will happen, it just doesn’t look like it’s going to happen this year.”

WWE is going ahead with plans to induct Bam Bam Bigelow this year which is something they held off on. It is possible that WWE wanted to wait on Bigelow so he could be closer to where he came from which is the NY/NJ area. Since next year’s WrestleMania will be in Florida, you never know if WWE could be waiting until then to induct The Great One or if they have another direction.
