It is time for the go-home show of SmackDown Live before the WWE Universe heads to Phoenix for the Royal Rumble. The blue brand has plenty of exciting matches and moments to wrap up before Sunday.

Rey Mysterio lost twice to Andrade, but Mr. 6-1-9 will have a chance to get both of his wins back as he faces the former Cien Almas this week in a two-out-of-three falls match. Those two stole the show last week and hopefully, they will be able to deliver. This ironically is most likely happening because Andrade was unhappy in WWE. He was also telling some of his famous friends not to give WWE chance.

Mandy Rose and Naomi will battle and their feud has really become interesting. Their hotel room segment last week went viral and you never know what they might have planned this time.

The Miz is taking on Cesaro this week. The A-Lister along with Shane McMahon will attempt to capture the SmackDown Tag Team Titles in Phoenix. So we’ll get to see a little Royal Rumble preview.

Samoa Joe didn’t give much of a chance to Mustafa Ali last week on SmackDown Live. He pummeled the newcomer from 205 Live all around the ring after jumping him during Ali’s entrance. So Mustafa Ali vs Samoa Joe is finally happening this time around.

The biggest attraction of the show very well could be Vince McMahon moderating a face-to-face between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan. These two are set to battle at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship. We will have to see what happens there.

So that’s the show and it should be a good one. Check back at 8:00 PM EST when all the action officially begins. Until then, please enjoy last week’s hotel room brawl.

Opening Segment

Becky Lynch came out and The Man came out to a pretty decent pop. It’s a good thing she’s keeping those without the title. There were loud “Becky” chants and she said it’s good to be back in town.

She had something to say. People weren’t paying attention to her previously, but now everyone is paying attention to her. She said the only thing The Man should be doing is main eventing WrestleMania. This got “Becky” chants too.

She said that journey starts in five days at the Royal Rumble. Lynch said she’s watched Asuka steamroll NXT and is one of the best in the world, but Becky is better. This got a light cheer.

Asuka has shown Lynch everything she is as a woman and everyone is warming themselves under a fire The Man lit. Then Asuka came out to a much smaller reaction.

Asuka got in the ring and held up her title while she yelled in Japanese without a microphone. Nobody could hear it because the “Becky” chants were too loud. Then Charlotte Flair came out.

Flair started talking about who she’s defeated and how much she loves Ken her Kendo stick. She reminded Asuka that she broke her undefeated streak and then she turned her attention to Lynch. There were very loud “Becky” chants again.

Flair said she’s owned the division for the past four year and “I am the main events.” As Flair let go a “wooo,” Asuka attacked Becky Lynch from behind. The two rolled around and fought and they had to do a pull apart with WWE officials. Did you think we would get through a Royal Rumble without another pull apart?

Asuka broke free and got a good shot at Lynch as she threw her into the barricade and then Lynch tossed Asuka over the announce table. Then Lynch whipped Asuka with her leather jacket.

The Man posed on the announce table and did a little dive off of the table onto Asuka and that seemed to win the exchange. Then Becky walked off looking mean while the crowd cheered.

When we came back from commercial, Asuka and Lynch were still brawling on the ground but at least they made it backstage. Then we went back to the announce table to continue the show.

Mandy Rose vs Naomi

Naomi went after Rose on the ramp and brawled a bit before they got in the ring and the referee started the match. The Glow held Mandy and slapped her repeatedly before landing a backhand.

Mandy rolled outside of the ring so Sonya could check on her and then we went to commercial.

During the break, Mandy laid some boots in the corner on Naomi and then The Glow landed a basement clothesline and a leg drop for a two count before applying an arm submission on Rose.

Mandy ended up turning things around as she mounted Naomi and landed some punches. Then she got a headlock as we came back from commercial.

They continued wrestling as Mandy choked Naomi out with her knee. Then she continued pummeling Naomi as Corey Graves said Mandy is his pick to win the Royal Rumble match.

Naomi came back with a rana and then she got lifted onto the apron and Sonya Deville distracted Naomi as Rose ran Naomi into the post. Then she quickly pinned her and won.

Winner: Mandy Rose

Jimmy Uso came down and had to console his wife as Mandy left.

Rey Mysterio cut a backstage promo on Andrade about gaining respect.

The Miz was looking pumped and Shane McMahon walked up and asked him if he’s ready. His match is next.

The Miz vs Cesaro

Shane McMahon came out first and danced a little before The Miz made his entrance.

Cesaro took advantage right from the start with some stiff forearms while Sheamus cheered him on. This didn’t start out well for The Miz as Cesaro caught him in the air and hit a backbreaker.

Then The Miz started hitting some kicks in the corner and flipped around to transition into a figure four. Cesaro grabbed the roped and then Sheamus pulled him out.

The Miz took a shot from Ceasro when he wasn’t looking after The Miz tried to hit a dropkick to the outside through the ropes on Sheamus but missed.

Once they returned from commercial, The Miz was fighting out of a headlock. He kicked Cesaro in the corner as people chanted “Yes” and he landed two running dropkicks and the clothesline in the corner.

Then Cesaro landed an uppercut when The Miz jumped from the top rope. Shane helped break up the pin. There was another near fall and then Cesaro choked The Miz on the ropes while he distracted the referee Sheamus hit Miz.

Cesaro hit a Neutralizer and won.

Winner: Cesaro

Shane attacked Sheamus and then took apart the announce table after laying out Cesaro. He put Cesaro on the announce table and climbed the turnbuckle to land an elbow. Then Sheamus shoved Shane off and he crashed and burned. They took out The Miz and then laid Shane out with a beating and a Brogue Kick.

The Bar put The Miz on the announce table and hit him multiple times before putting Shane on top of him via a powerbomb through The Miz and the table.

That was brutal.

Shane and The Miz were in bad shape and Vince McMahon watched from backstage looking concerned while he shook his head. He didn’t like what he saw.

AJ Styles & Daniel Bryan Face To Face Moderated By Vince McMahon

McMahon said he will reserve comment on what just happened to his son before moving on. Then McMahon introduced AJ Styles through a ton of “What” chants from the crowd.

Bryan got a lot of boos and AJ Styles was still very over. The crowd also sounded like they were singing along with Bryan’s song a little bit. I’m sure he loved that. He didn’t look like he enjoyed much of anything as he walked out with his WWE Championship.

Vince told Bryan to get in the ring and Daniel said he’s not falling for that trap and he’s not getting in the ring with a sociopath. He said he’s too embarassed to step foot in the ring with him right now.

Bryan took a dig at Styles turning his fans into walking billboards because of his merchandise and belittled hot dogs again. He said AJ uses his power to get fame and money and Bryan uses it for the greater good.

Styles asked Bryan is the greater good was Bryan coming out and talking like a jackass. Swearing got a pop and Bryan said AJ never makes his fans think.

Bryan said he’s not the people’s champion. He’s the Planet’s Champion and he’s using the platform to be the planet’s voice. AJ said if the planet had a voice it would tell Bryan to shut up.

Then AJ mentioned how Bryan took a jet to get there and there’s a word for that… fickle. People started chanting “fickle” at Bryan and he didn’t like that.

AJ said Daniel is afraid of him and once he takes his title he will have nothing. Then Vince McMahon interrupted Bryan and told him to get in the ring.

Bryan didn’t like that and then he said that Vince wouldn’t like this because babyboomers are the parasites of the world. He said Vince puts profit over people every time and they bow to him for it.

Then Bryan railed on instagram and social media while Vince is hoarding the wealth and power and they ignore it because they’re distracted. WWE is turning the truth into a heel promo.

Then Vince got mad and ordered Bryan into the ring again.

AJ said a face-to-face doesn’t have to be in the ring so he went outside and then he tossed Bryan around a bit before throwing him in the ring. Bryan hid behind Vince and AJ didn’t hit a Phenomonal Forearm. That is a strange move considering the fact that he punched Vince out on Christmas Day.

Then Bryan used McMahon as a diversion before delivering a running knee to take AJ out so Bryan could leave with his title.

R-Truth and Carmella had a little segment backstage where Truth was confused again. Then Mella saw Charlotte. She told Charlotte that the Royal Rumble isn’t a match, it’s a tornado. She also reminded Flair that she’s #30 and called herself “The Gatekeeper Of Gucci.”

Charlotte said she’s confident too and in the Royal Rumble it isn’t the tornado, she is.

Samoa Joe vs Mustafa Ali

Joe started things off by landing punches and kicks as Ali fell to the floor. Samoa Joe followed Ali and landed another big punch. Mustafa sold it like a champ.

Then Ali jumped on the apron and landed a dive on Joe. They returned to the ring and Ali landed a dropkick. Mustafa punched Joe in the corner until Joe returned fire with one big punch.

Joe hit a headbutt and continued to work on Ali slowly. Ali tried to land a springboard something on Joe, but Samoa Joe landed another punch and sent Ali out of the ring.

Joe continued beating on Ali throughout the entire commercial break.

Ali was spent as he crawled toward Joe. “You wanted this, you wanted this,” Joe said as Ali popped up and hit a few punches, but then Samoa Joe took him down again for a two count.

Mustafa Ali hit a facebuster to separate himself from Joe a little and they both got up together. Ali ducked under a clothesline and hit two dropkicks. Joe went out of the ring and then Ali hit a suicide dive.

Joe was rocked and then Ali hit a splash off of the barricade. They returned to the ring and Ali hit three Superkicks and a DDT. Remember when both of those moves were finishers? Anyway, Ali got a two count.

Ali climbed up top and Joe grabbed him off the turnbuckle to latch on the Coquina Clutch for the win.

Winner: Samoa Joe

The New Day cut a promo backstage as they played pool saying if one of them wins the Royal Rumble then they all win. Kofi got sad wondering if this is the year he can’t figure out an inventive way to stay in the Rumble. They told him to keep his chin up. Then Kofi said he has a plan, but he’s not sharing. Then they all sang “No Kayla,” to Kayla Braxton.

Rey Mysterio vs Andrade (2 out of 3 Falls Match)

Zelina Vega wasn’t with Andrade for some reason. They said she has been barred from ringside.

They started off quickly and Andrade ended up outside of the ring where Mysterio hit a dive on him. Then they cut to commercial.

The two continued the match and shared some near falls as they continued to try and capture the first fall. Then Rey hung Andrade up on the top rope and climbed up from the apron before Andrade grabbed Mysterio, but Rey fought off. Mysteiro tried a rana from the top, but Andrade hit a sit-down powerbomb from the top rope for a pinfall to get the first fall.

First Fall: Andrade

It didn’t take long for Rey Mysterio to score the next pinfall with a Canadian Destroyer.

Second Fall: Rey Mysterio

Andrade took a bump out of the ring and sold for a bit after Rey ducked when Andrade was charging into the corner.

Mysterio went for his baseball slide, but Andrade grabbed him and turned it against him. Mysterio rolled back in first and then turned a baseball slide until a move where he flung Andrade into the barricade. Then Mysterio grabbed some water and took a drink before pouring it on his own head.

Then Rey nailed a West Coast Pop for a near fall. The crowd was chanting “6-1-9” as Andrade grabbed an armbar over the ropes and held it for the entire 5 seconds he was allowed to.

Andrade mocked Eddie Guerrero by doing a Latino Heat taunt and then Mysterio landed a kick through the ropes. He went for a powerbomb to the floor, but Andrade flipped around and landed on his feet. Then Andrade landed a powerbomb to the ring post before throwing him in the ring, hitting a Hammerlock DDT and pinning Mysterio, but Rey got his foot over the bottom rope.

Andrade got another arm submission on Rey to continue focusing on that part of Mysterio’s body. Mysterio fought to get free and then Rey tried to get a pin, but Andrade kicked out. Mysteiro hit an inverted hurricanrana for a two count.

Mysterio set Almas up for the 6-1-9 and landed it. Then Samoa Joe came in and powerbombed Rey onto the apron.

The referee called for the bell and that was it.

Winner: Nobody. It was a tie?

Then Samoa Joe laid waste to everyone. He latched on a Coquina Clutch onto Mysterio until he was out. Then Joe paced around in more anger for a bit.

Joe got on the microphone and said he told us he was here to make a statement. He said what we see in the ring tonight is what he will do to the other 29 Superstars in the Royal Rumble.

Then Randy Orton hit an RKO outa nowhere. Randy held up 3 fingers meaning he wants to become a three-time Royal Rumble winner. SmackDown Live ended this week with Randy Orton posing.
