Kurt Angle is WWE Hall Of Famer with over twenty years of experience in sports entertainment. However, he also won two gold medals at the 1996 Olympics with a broken freaking neck. This doesn’t seem to change Deron Winn’s mind about the choice Angle made to jump to pro wrestling all those years ago.

While speaking to Fightful, Winn expressed the idea that it was hard for him to see Angle sell out and go to WWE. He can’t blame him, but it takes an incredible amount of talent to be an Olympian.

“I hope people don’t take this wrong, but I respect an Olympic Champion more than an MMA champion. It’s been my passion my whole life. I didn’t even sniff the team and I was really f-ckin’ good. It’s hard for me to see a guy like Kurt Angle sell out, but I can’t blame him. There’s no end game in amateur wrestling unless you’re going to be a coach,”

Winn actually had to turn down WWE as well so he did put his money where his mouth is on that one. He said not to take it the wrong way, it’s still hard to see any hero “sell out.”
