Edge and Christian open today’s show by speaking about the NXT UK Takeover show. Christian thought the show was great and points out that the crowd was hyped which really helped the show. Edge agrees, adding that a crowd like that can make an okay show into a great show and vice versa.

Edge was really impressed with Tyler Bate during the Tag Team Title match. However, he wasn’t fond of the decision to place the new NXT UK Tag Titles at the feet of the ring announcer, instead of placing them on some kind of platform for all to see. He notes that the Titles don’t appear to mean as much when they’re just thrown on the floor like that.

Christian agrees with Edge that the match was terrific, and notes that the limited number of matches on the card allowed each match to develop and tell a great story. He says he always found it easier to have a match that went 20 minutes instead of 6.

Edge says he enjoyed the main event between Joe Coffey and Pete Dunne. He notes that it wasn’t pretty, but Coffey is never going to be a “Dean Malenko” in terms of fluidity. He liked that it wasn’t pretty, and compares it to a Rocky movie. Christian agrees, adding that it was his favourite match on the show, mostly because he’s such a huge fan of Dunne.

Edge was happy for Finn Balor this Monday, after Balor became the new #1 Contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title. Edge points out that Balor is a great dude with his head on straight outside the ring, so it’s nice to see him rewarded like this. Christian agrees, adding that he liked the underdog story WWE told with Balor on Monday night.

Edge points out that rumours are circulating that The Revival have asked for their release from WWE. He says he’s a big fan of that team, and if they were given an opportunity he’d put them right up with The Usos as the top teams in the company.

Edge admits that he’s not sure how much attention Vince McMahon will give the tag team division in general moving forward because McMahon reportedly doesn’t see as much promise in tag team wrestling compared to singles wrestling. Christian notes that it’s a tough decision for The Revival, especially since they spent their entire career trying to get to WWE.

Edge and Christian welcome Sasha Banks to the show.

Edge asks Banks what keeps her hungry at this point in her career. She points out that the continuing evolution of the women’s division is very important to her. It’s becoming normal now for women to main event RAW and Smackdown as well as house shows, which she never thought would happen, and things just continue to improve for the women.

Banks notes that you have to keep working to be happy, and if you’re not happy you have to let someone know. She’s not content with mediocrity. Edge says he loves that attitude, but sometimes that can rub people the wrong way.

Banks informs that she’s been a fan of wrestling since the age of 10, and through her family connection with Snoop Dogg she was able to go backstage with him at WrestleMania 24. She was very overwhelmed at the time, so it’s amazing that all these years later she’s a performer in the company.

Banks informs that her “Boss” nickname came from her hearing everyone call Snoop Dogg “Boss” over the years. She notes that Dusty Rhodes played a big role in helping her develop that character in NXT and now she’s very comfortable in that role.

Banks talks about her classic NXT Takeover match with Bayley. She points out that it was one of her favourite matches of her career thus far. The underdog story that they told with Bayley really had fans invested and the result was a magical match.

Edge asks Banks if she’d rather work as a heel or babyface. Banks says the lines are constantly blurring now between heel and babyface, but she’s been a babyface longer than she’s been a heel in WWE. She loves being a heel, noting that there’s something fun about pushing people’s buttons and getting them to boo you out of the building. Christian says he was always the same way; he loved getting booed.

Banks says it’s been great travelling with Bayley since they’ve been on the main roster. They became closer after they both got called up and now they’re best friends. However, they’re opposites in the sense that Bayley is a night person and Banks is a morning person so that causes some issues.

Banks says she’s smiling ear to ear just thinking about the possibility of winning the Women’s Tag Titles with Bayley. She informs that it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions when it comes to the announcement of a women’s tag division, and to finally see it happen was an amazing moment.

Banks says she’s really looking forward to challenging Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble. She thinks she’s going to show Rousey something she hasn’t seen before, adding that she offers a different type of match compared to Nia Jax or Charlotte.
