AEW Unable To Secure Top Indie Wrestler Due To WWE Interest

All Elite Wrestling is happening and they are stacking a pretty impressive roster as they build toward their next big event in Las Vegas. However, they haven’t been able to get everyone they wanted.

WWE is still the biggest player in the game and as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio, there is at least one name that AEW really wants that probably won’t be coming in because they already have their eyes set on WWE.

“I know that [AEW] is recruiting and trying to get women from all over. I know Viper was on their list. When her contract is up she’s probably going to WWE, not All Elite so that’s a get for WWE.”

“Everybody knows who the free agents are. WWE is trying to sign them all, Elite is trying to sign them all. You’ve got Ring Of Honor and New Japan. It’s a great time to be a wrestler.”

Viper was a standout in the Mae Young Classic, but WWE didn’t sign her at the time. She carrie on and continued to impress. Obviously, someone like Viper could be a huge benefit for AEW as they build a women’s division. However, it seems like WWE could already have Viper’s number.
