During SmackDown Live’s New Year’s Day episode of the show which was pretaped, The New Day came out and cut a pretty entertaining promo. They also announced an unexpected change to their gimmick.

In the process, it was confirmed that all three members of the New Day will be in the Royal Rumble match. It’s usually a good sign for people who have their Royal Rumble entries announced well in advance.

It’s always possible that someone could be announced in a backstage segment, but The New Day made a point to make sure everyone knew they will be in the match.
