As seen on Sky Bet, Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas is the betting favourite to become the next United States Champion.

The dust has barely settled on The Bulgarian Brute’s victory over Shinsuke Nakamura, and yet, people are already thinking about who could be the next man to hold onto the strap.

It’s a title that hasn’t had a great time of things over the course of the last few years, with the prestige dropping significantly ever since John Cena lost the belt back in 2015.

In terms of the betting odds, as we’ve noted, Almas is the favourite with odds of 3/1. Samoa Joe isn’t too far behind with odds of 5/1 which would certainly make for an incredibly fun feud, as Mustafa Ali & Rey Mysterio come in at joint 3rd place with odds of 6/1.

Given his Mexican heritage it makes all the sense in the world to consider Almas as a legitimate threat to the championship, because he could do so many fun things with it. While the ‘foreigner holding the title’ gimmick has arguably been overused with the US Championship in recent years, it could well be the platform that Andrade needs to reach that next level.

He hasn’t exactly been booked perfectly up to this point on the main roster, although as we saw down in NXT, he can sometimes be a late starter. With that being said it definitely feels like Almas has all of the tools necessary to thrive at the highest level, and he just needs WWE to get behind him.
