Possible NXT Title Match At WWE NXT TakeOver: Phoenix

NXT TakeOver: Pheonix is coming up in January and we have a full spoiler report of the television leading up to the event. On that note, the rest of this article is a spoiler so please turn back if you’re not into that kind of thing.
The big main event of the tapings saw Alesiter Black vs Johnny Gargano in a steel cage match. Tommaso Ciampa jumped in the match and seemingly teamed up with Gargano once again as they laid out a babyface Black with their Team #DIY finisher.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the NXT title picture may be a three-way with Tommaso Ciampa vs Aleister Black vs Johnny Gargano in a triple threat match. Ciampa and Gargano teaming up against Black on NXT television could have been a sign of a reformed DIY, but not all the way.
This match could be a great addition to the card before the Royal Rumble and Black could very well end up working Monday or Tuesday as well because he could be in line for main roster call-up soon.
Only time will tell how WWE books the upcoming TakeOver special because they only made one official match during the recent tapings where Shayna Baszler will defend her NXT Women’s Title against Bianca Belair. This contest will be streak vs title as Belair remains undefeated on NXT television.
NXT TakeOver: Phoenix will take place on January 26th 2019 and while we might have some time until the next TakeOver special, it doesn’t make the idea of Ciampa vs Black vs Gargano in the main event any less appealing.
