WWE’s NXT brand is getting bigger all the time and the first-ever NXT UK TakeOver event is coming on January 12th. Triple H made the announcement during the television tapings today and everyone lost their minds when the video came out.
We previously reported one big title match at NXT UK: TakeOver as Rhea Ripley will defend her NXT UK Woman’s Championship against Toni Storm, but two other title matches were announced by the time the first day of television tapings way finished.
We have full spoilers of the first day of television tapings if you want to know the details, but Pete Dunne will defend his WWE United Kingdom Championship against Joe Coffey on January 12th in Blackpool at NXT UK’s first-ever TakeOver event. Dunne’s reign as champion has been amazing as he became the longest reigning current champion in WWE and that position only grows in impressiveness with every day he remains champion.
Another title match will be for the brand-new NXT UK Tag Team Championships where Mustache Mountain will face a team yet to be determined for the new titles at NXT TakeOver: UK. These new titles are very important for the NXT UK brand as they establish themselves with a full roster of talent and ongoing stories.
This show is pretty far off and NXT UK: TakeOver is already shaping up to be a great show and will also give the WWE Universe two TakeOver specials in a short span as UK is on the 12th and NXT TakeOver before the Royal Rumble in Pheonix is on January 27th.
The NXT UK: TakeOver card is as follows so far:

  • Pete Dunne vs Joe Coffey — WWE United Kingdom Championship
  • Rhea Ripley vs Toni Storm — NXT UK Women’s Championship
  • Mustache Mountain vs TBD — NXT UK Tag Team Championships
