WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne has been dealing with an injury over the past few months. In fact, the Superstar has had to pull out of multiple appearances due to the injury- which went undisclosed for a long time. The injury was described by many to be severe.
As we now know, Dunne did compete at NXT TakeOver: War Games last night. His foot was bandaged up and was used as a primary attacking point for The Undisputed Era during the main event.
Triple H revealed last night during his post-TakeOver interviews that Dunne has actually been dealing with a broken bone in his foot. He has been resting up over the past few weeks to heal for TakeOver and is good to go now.
It is worth noting that Dunne did show signs of limping throughout the match last night, though it didn’t stop him from being dominant throughout the match and eventually standing at the top of the cage with NXT North American Champion Ricochet after they had been victorious against The Undisputed Era.
This also means that Dunne is no longer in danger of having to drop the WWE UK Championship as some fans speculated after the injury was announced back in October of this year. The episodes that have already been taped are still airing. WWE is heading to Liverpool for NXT UK this week, and there is a chance that Dunne can now work those shows if the company desires.
