NXT has a lot of popular Superstars who will someday become big deals on the WWE main roster but not all of them can be in the main event. Since he moved up to SmackDown Live, Tye Dillinger hasn’t been used much in spite of the fact that he is still incredibly over. Now it seems like he could be looking to go back to NXT in the next Superstar Shake Up.
Dillinger wasn’t even supposed to get a main roster call-up as Mike Johnson said on PW Insider Elite audio that Dilly was supposed to just be brought into NXT to help others get better. This is the same kind of gig that Kassius Ohno apparently has now. But Dillinger did end up getting called to SmackDown Live where his most memorable angle in recent memory was getting his fingers tortured by Randy Orton in the ring rope screws.
One fan asked Dillinger if he is comfortable on SmackDown Live or if he’d rather move to WWE Raw instead. This led The Perfect 10 to reply: “Raw, SD… NXT.” Obviously, he heard Triple h say that he sees guys going back to NXT, not as a demotion, but simply another brand change.
Only time will tell what kind of future Tye Dillinger will have in WWE. He has a lot of abilities to do some pretty impressive things and charisma for days. His “10” chant is also incredibly over. But he just needs that push, and honestly, at this point, it doesn’t matter which brand that push comes from at this point be it red, blue, or yellow because anything would be better than creative simply not having anything for you week after week.
