Rey Mysterio is headed back to WWE and it might be like he never left. Then again, he negotiated an 18-month exit clause in his contract so I guess he can elect to leave if he wants.
But he is coming back and it’s only a matter of time before we see how WWE will use him. Now it looks like we’re getting a little bit better of an idea of when we could expect to see him actually make his return.
Wrestle Votes reports that some people in WWE want a “surprise pop” for Mysterio at the Australian Super Show-Down event, but not everyone wants to pull the trigger so soon.
The thinking now is to apparently hold off on Mysterio’s debut until SmackDown 1000 on October 16th. After all, Mysterio was a huge part of SmackDown’s early success.
It is also interesting how he might appear on SmackDown Live as his first appearance because we exclusively reported that WWE was considering Rey Mysterio vs Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
