Cody Rhodes walked into New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Fighting Spirit Unleashed event and he challenged Juice Robinson for the IWGP United States Title in the process. After a hard-fought match, Rhodes walked out with 2 titles around his shoulders.
Rhodes, of course, won the NWA World Heavyweight Title at All In from Nick Aldis, but he had to go through Juice Robinson, a man who is also a former WWE Superstar (he performed in NXT as CJ Parker). This was a case of both men having a lot to prove in this match and Rhodes walked out the better of the 2 when all was said and done.
Needless to say, the “indies” have been very good to Cody Rhodes in the month of September as the 1st marked the day when he picked up the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and he concluded the last day of the month defeating Juice Robinson for the IWGP United States Title.
Only time will tell what Rhodes decides to do once we get closer to that theoretical time when WWE will most likely be offering some big money. But it looks like he’s doing great so far. Because now The American Nightmare has a 2nd title and it matches his nickname quite well.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
