WWE’s main roster hasn’t used the WarGames idea, but NXT has certainly made a habit of putting on the match, after all last year’s return of the famous match was met with a lot of praise and it seems they’re doing it again this year in Los Angeles before Survivor Series.
With so many new and exciting names in NXT since the last WarGames II event, there are a lot of people who WWE could put together inside the punishing environment. After all, so many of those guys want to prove themselves that you could just about book anyone in that match and they would give it their all.
On a recent PW Insider Elite audio update, Dave Scherer speculated about the teams it looks like WWE is going with for this year’s event.
“They’re building to WarGames […] I would assume it’s going to be War Raiders and Ricochet, Britsh Strong Style, and Undisputed Era as the 3 teams in that match.”
Only time will tell what WWE ends up doing with their upcoming NXT TakeOver: WarGames II event but if NXT booked a match with those guys it could certainly blow the roof off of the Staples Center on November 17th.
