Starrcade is coming back this year under the WWE’s roof and it should be a card worthy of as many people seeing it as possible. But will it be on the WWE Network?
Mike Johnson said on a recent PW Insider elite audio update that he was speaking to a source in WWE who didn’t seem to think the Starrcade event would air as a WWE Network special. But Johnson had a pretty compelling reason to believe otherwise.

“I asked somebody in the company and they said that they did not believe it would be on the Network. But then I pointed out to them that the show is doing the take-away chair, the $300 chairs, and he went, ‘oh we only do that for pay-per-view and TV so perhaps you’re right — I’ll look into it.’ That was 2 days ago.”

He went on to mention how WWE can always decide to simply not release information until the time is right by their watch. So only time will tell what WWE will decide to do with the Starrcade event. But in all honesty it would make sense in their trend of supplying as many live events as possible to the WWE Network so they can boost viewership numbers when it comes to hours watched.
But, Brad Shepard also noted on Twitter that he was at last year’s Starrcade event in premium seating and it was not on the WWE Network. Again, this is a new idea and tickets aren’t available yet (although the presale password is WWECINCY.) We’ll just have to see what WWE wants to do here.
