William Regal is a man of many talents. As part of his role with WWE, one of the jobs he focuses on besides working as the NXT General Manager is to scout for new talent the company can sign. As such, we have learned by way of Pro Wrestling Sheet that Regal was in attendance at a massive independent event.
One of the biggest yearly independent events is held by Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). The event is known as the Battle of Los Angeles and generally speaking, this event is home to some phenomenal talent that has eventually made their way to WWE.
Talent showcased in past years of this event include, but are not limited to Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Kassius Ohno, Ricochet, Keith Lee, Travis Banks, Evan Bourne, Matt Riddle, Soloman Crowe, Flash Morgan Webster, and numerous other names. Obviously, some of these names competed under different aliases.
Given this, it is likely Regal was invited by officials to scout out backstage and watch the matches as they take place. You can find Regal peeking out from behind a curtain in the image below.
