WWE always wants to put on the biggest show possible and with SummerSlam coming to Toronto next year, there was thought they could hold the big event in the Rogers Centre (formerly Skydome) where WrestleMania 3 and 18 were held.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE wanted to use the Rogers Centre for SummerSlam, but the dates of August 10-13th wouldn’t have be availble due to baseball games. In fact, the stadium wouldn’t have been available anytime around when WWE wanted to hold the big summer show.

Therefore, they decided to go with the four arena shows in the same venue that SmackDown and Raw were in last week.
