Ronda Rousey was in a tough situation this week. She had to kick off Raw when everyone was still thinking about Jim Neidhart. You could tell by her face that she was sad and this moment was all too real for Rousey.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that since Rousey lost her own father when she was 8-years-old, this was likely even more emotional of a moment for her.

Whether she wanted this start to the show or not, she still pulled it off. She was able to deliver an emotional speech about daughters carrying on their family legacy after their fathers taught them how to walk on their own.

Meltzer said Rousey’s father was paralyzed after a snowboarding accident when she was a child and then he committed suicide. Therefore, this moment was all too real for Rousey, but it also gave the WWE Universe a great chance to show Natalya some love in the process.
