RAW Superstar Mickie James has been back with the company for around two years. She initially returned to the company back during NXT TakeOver: Toronto to face Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship. After being unsuccessful, yet stealing the show, the company and fans alike wanted the former Champion back in WWE.

During her current run, James has been unsuccessful at capturing any Championships but has focused her time mainly on working as a heel alongside Alexa Bliss, who has an increasingly huge stock in the company.

In promotion of a recent WWE show in Virginia, James was a guest on Virginia This Morning, where she confirmed what her current mentality is in WWE, given her run since returning to the company.

“It’s incredible. Obviously, I just came back for my second run and it was kind of a surprise for me, and especially coming back after having a son and he’s going on four-years-old. But to come back after that I think its… its definitely changed my perception and my goals I think–of why I’m doing a lot of the things that I’m doing and you know, when you’re young and you’re having fun and you’re traveling the world and you’re just spending money and doing whatever but now its like… college funds.”

In addition, James also explained how she has been blessed during her career.

“I definitely recognize how blessed I am, because for every one of me there’s a thousand easy, and I don’t discredit myself in the sense of the amount of time I’ve been… November will be almost twenty years since I first stepped foot in a wrestling school. Its amazing but it definitely took a lot of hard work and determination and it was a lot of… I got told ‘no’ so many times before I finally got that ‘yes’ but it really made that one ‘yes’ mean so much. Persistence and hard work and you have to believe and believe in yourself and visualize that goal and you know, we all hope but sometimes I think fear gets in our way–fear will stop you in your tracks if you let it.”
