Brock Lesnar showed back up at UFC 226 and now he’s going to be the next guy to face Daniel Cormier. He’s still the Universal Champion with no storyline on television except for the fact he never shows up. There are plenty of people who want to fight Lesnar for his title but they have to get a match with him in order to make that happen.

Suddenly, reports broke yesterday saying Brock Lesnar will defend his Universal Championship at SummerSlam. This came out of nowhere for some people who assumed he wouldn’t be around because WWE would have something with him on TV first.

Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that “as of a couple days ago” Lesnar wasn’t booked for SummerSlam. So it looks like Vince McMahon changed his mind as he tends to do.

Who knows if there could be other plans revealed soon enough? Something needs to happen soon though because Lesnar has been announced for SummerSlam but there’s no opponent and no way to determine who will face him next either.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
