Jim Ross used to pop up in WWE from time to time. He was on the Greatest Royal Rumble kickoff show in Saudi Arabia the last time we saw him on WWE. Now he’s recovering from an injury after the last New Japan show he called.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted something troubling about Jim Ross. Since Ross worked the Mae Young Classic last year and won’t be calling the action this year, it could indicate that his days working in a featured position for WWE are over once again.

“Speaking of Ross, the fact he wasn’t placed as an announcer for the Mae Young Classic (which he did last year) or the U.K. show (which he did the first time) seems to indicate he’s probably not going to be doing lead announcing much if any going forward for WWE.”

This would be a shame because we were just getting used to having JR back from time to time. It seems his appearances were few and far between but at least we got some of him “bah gawd!”

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
