Welcome to Ringside News’ coverage of Monday Night Raw!

We’re one week away from Extreme Rules 2018 and the WWE Universal Champion has finally resurfaced…but not on WWE television. Nope, Brock Lesnar appeared at UFC 226, confronting new Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier. It’s such a strange situation to be in with WWE right now, Lesnar seemingly has one match left on his contract and WWE are holding off on using it, in an attempt to get fans to boo him and cheer Roman. Yet Lesnar won’t be able to fight in UFC for another 6 months, so we’re in a real pickle so to speak. Lesnar will eventually drop the title and it will likely be to Roman Reigns, which begs the question why didn’t they just pull the trigger at WrestleMania and move on? Who knows, but we do know Reigns will face Bobby Lashley at Extreme Rules, seemingly for a number one contender position. Perhaps, however, Stipe Miocic is in line for a shot first though.

Last week, Braun Strowman annihilated Kevin Owens once again, knocking him off the stage while he sat inside a porta-potty. It’s hard to see where WWE is going with storyline, even though it is fun. Strowman will never lose a singles match to Owens, so we’re just watching him bully KO in new and inventive ways each week. As long as it continues to be entertaining, I guess that’s all that matters.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Seth Rollins prepares for his Iron Man Match with Dolph Ziggler, Bayley and Sasha Banks return to therapy, and we have a tag match with Finn Balor and Constable Corbin on opposing sides. All that and more to look forward to tonight. Remember to download the Ringside News’ app and follow us on Instagram, enjoy the show!

Monday Night Raw opens with a video of Roman Reigns talking about how he’s the uncrowned WWE Universal Champion. Reigns says people may have lost faith in him, but he never has. Bobby Lashley begs to differ. They will fight at Extreme Rules to determine who is the best.

Roman Reigns is shownn walking backstage when Bobby Lashley walks into the frame to block him – completely hiding Roman from the camera with his giant back. Lashley asks where he’s going. Reigns says he’s going out to his ring, so Lashley better get out of his way. Lashley suggests he call him out because he won’t be coming to talk. You can hear the fans loudly chant for Bobby. Lashley says he’ll tear Reigns apart. Lashley then smiles and lets Reigns pass by.

Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring. Roman says in his entire time in WWE, he’s never heard anyone ask him to call them out. So much like the fans, he’s curious what Bobby can do. So Reigns calls Lashley out and the big man answers the call.

Bobby Lashley makes his entrance and he looks ready for business. Lashley slowly climbs the ring steps and stares at Reigns from the apron. Reigns stares a hole through him. Lashley gets in the ring, and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle comes out to the stage with Constable Corbin. Angle says it’s not going to happen tonight and suggests they save it for Sunday. Reigns and Lashley then start trading punches. The RAW locker room runs out to separate them. They eventually pull away from them and trade blows before being pulled apart again. The fans in Boston are really into this and it’s making it far more interesting.

Lashley breaks out a second time and splashes Reigns in the corner before punching him down. Lashley then kicks Reigns out of the ring. Bobby goes outside and breaks free from the pack to punch Reigns again. Finally he’s pulled to the ramp. Lashley once again breaks free and floors Roman with a big clothesline. Lashley stands over Reigns and continues to beat on him. Lashley gets Roman in the ring, but he’s pulled back by a plethora of Superstars. Reigns then gets to his feet and gets a head of steam before wiping out the entire RAW roster and Lashley with a diving plancha! Reigns then backs up the ramp as his music plays. All of a sudden, Reigns sidesteps the superstars that were talking to him at the top of the ramp, and runs down the ramp to jump on Lashley once again. Reigns finally goes up the ramp and walks off. Bobby angrily paces at ringside. Wow, that’s an example of how to make a feud interesting with one final push.

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James are backstage watching the brawl on the monitor. Bliss says that was intense, but that is nothing compared to the pain and destruction they’re about to bring on Natalya and Nia Jax. This match is next.

*Commercial Break*

Replays are shown of the wild brawl between Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley, including the dive by Reigns over the top rope onto the RAW roster.

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James make their entrance, followed by Nia and Natalya.

Alexa Bliss & Mickie James vs. Nia Jax & Natalya

Alexa Bliss starts the match against Nia Jax….but immediately tags in Mickie James. They lock up, and Jax throws her down. Jax powers James into the corner, and Natalya tags in. They hit the Hart Attack. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter, but James gets out and tags in Bliss. Natalya quickly clotheslines Bliss down and goes for a Sharpshooter, but Bliss gets out of the ring to regroup.

Natalya hits Bliss with a baseball slide and sends her into the barricade before clotheslining James at ringside. Natalya gets Bliss in the ring, but Bliss rolls out the other side as we head to the break.

*Commercial Break*

We come back from the break to see James working over Natalya. James kicks away at her in the corner and tags in Bliss. James whips Alexa into Nattie, but Bliss puts the brakes on and slaps Natalya in the face. Bliss chokes her with her boot before catching her with a snapmare and applying a chin lock. While the chin lock is going on, they do a 30-second commercial for Extreme Rules. Natalya climbs to her feet and hits a snapmare, but Bliss quickly clotheslines her down and covers for a two count. Bliss punches away at her and picks up another two count. Alexa puts her in her corner and tags James back in. James whips Bliss into Natalya, but Nattie counters with a back elbow. Natalya then takes James down.

Jax is tagged in, and she shoulder blocks James down before knocking Bliss off the apron. Jax avalanches James before throwing her down and hitting a second avalanche. James comes back with two kicks to the face, but Jax headbutts her. Jax lifts Mickie with a military press and throws her down on her face. Jax then drops a leg for the win.

Winners: Nia Jax & Natalya

As soon as the bell rings, Bliss immediately cracks Jax in the back with a Kendo stick. Bliss kicks Natalya and hits her in the back with the Kendo stick. Bliss then hits Jax on the back a few times with the stick before Jax blocks it and swings for Alexa but she rolls from the ring. Bliss immediately runs away with James up the ramp. Jax breaks the Kendo stick over her leg and chases them up the ramp.

Matt Hardy will take on Bo Dallas later tonight. Coming up next, we’ll take a look at Kevin Owens’ attack at the hands of Braun Strowman!

*Commercial Break*

We return to Monday Night Raw and see replays of Alexa beating Nia with the Kendo stick. We see Nia backstage and Charly Caruso stops her for a word. She rhymes off Alexa’s misgivings against Nia but Jax stops her and says Bliss can’t break her, but she can break her. She says she will break her like she broke that Kendo stick. She says she will pay her back, inch by crushing inch, and take back her Raw Women’s Championship.

We see footage from last Monday when Kevin Owens asked Kurt Angle to do something about Braun Strowman, who has been terrorising him for a month, then their match that night, which resulted in Braun knocking KO off the stage inside a porta-potty. We see Kurt Angle on the phone backstage when Kevin Owens walks in. Angle asks what he’s doing here and Owens says he’s here to work because he’s a professional. Owens says he knows Angle has a vendetta against him, and lets Braun run riot on him, but he has connections. He hands Angle a doctors note that says he isn’t cleared to compete tonight, so he will be spending the rest of tonight where Braun can’t find him…here in Angle’s office.

Mojo Rawley makes his way to the ring to no reaction whatsoever. He will be having a match, take that with a grain of salt, against No Way Jose after the break

*Commercial Break*.

No Way Jose Vs. Mojo Rawley

The bell rings, and Rawley powers Jose into the ropes. Jose punches back at him, but Rawley no sells it. Rawley charges, but Jose contains him with a front facelock. Rawley counters out with a flapjack. Rawley sends him into the ropes and floors him with a shoulder tackle for a two count. Rawley covers again for a one count.

Rawley connects with some stiff forearms to Jose. No Way manages to elbow him back, but Rawley shuts it down with a shoulder thrust. Rawley connects with a gutwrench suplex for a two count. Mojo applies a chin lock before slamming his head off the mat. Rawley then goes to a head and arm lock. Jose escapes the hold and tosses Rawley out of the ring.

Incensed, Rawley jumps up onto the apron and over the top rope. Mojo attacks Jose in the ring, and takes him down for a two count. Rawley goes back to the head and arm choke. Jose gets up and elbows him before kneeing him in the face. Jose forearms and knees away at him before connecting with a clothesline for a two count. Jose goes for the ten punches in the corner, but Mojo counters with an Alabama Slam for the win.

Winner: Mojo Rawley

We get another therapy session between Sasha Banks and Bayley, but it’s a female therapist this time. Bayley says she and Sasha were friends from back in NXT and she would do anything for Sasha, but Banks has stabbed her in the back time and again. She’s tired of giving her chances because Sasha Banks only cares about Sasha Banks.

We see Seth Rollins walking backstage. He walks into Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh. Jinder tells him that he should not burn it down because life is beautiful and should be treated as such. Rollins pretends to agree with Jinder and asks for help, so Jinder starts his weird breathing exercise and Rollins backs-up like Homer Simpson into the the hedge. Rollins will be live next!

*Commercial Break*

Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring to a heck of a reaction. Rollins says Boston always knows how to party. He says he’s had a lot of nicknames in WWE; Kingslayer, Mr. Money In The Bank, The Architect, etc., but the only moniker that he cares about right now is ‘former Intercontinental Champion’. Thankfully, he has an opportunity to win that title back when he takes on Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules in an Iron Man match. He says Dolph won’t be an easy task, he’s fast, smart, and a vet. Not to mention, he will be bringing that overgrown Scotsman with him. But he’s still Seth Freakin’ Rollins and none of that matters.

Ziggler and McIntyre interrupt Rollins. Dolph thanks Seth and says they really should talk about how good he is more often. He says don’t be fooled though, he won’t just be bringing his speed, agility, rugged good looks, and the psychopath Drew McIntyre, he will be bringing the IC title. And he will be leaving with it too. Drew takes the microphone and says it isn’t all bad, he’ll still have all his little nicknames when he leaves, and he’ll also be the first to bear witness to the future of WWE: them. Dolph says he will still be Seth Freakin’ Rollins after he loses, the man, and one of the best to ever step foot in that ring, but he’s not as good as him. He says he might even win 5-0. Rollins says Dolph’s been dying his hair too long and the peroxide has seeped into his brain. Ziggler flubs his words a little and the fans let him know. He says that Seth can swing a sledgehammer, climb walls, and do all the crossfit he wants but that won’t help him in an Iron Man match. You win an Ironman match by collecting victory after victory. Ziggler isn’t one to brag, but at Kent State University he earned so many victories he left as the winningest wrestler in history with 121 wins.

Rollins asks if McIntyre helped him with all those wins as well. McIntyre says he’s going only up in the world. Rollins says McIntyre only goes wherever Ziggler tells him, which gets an “ooohhh” from the fans. Rollins says he doesn’t understand why McIntyre gets ordered around by the little Ziggler. Rollins says Ziggler must know his secrets. Rollins says he hopes there are no photographs because it gets lonely in Scotland and there are only so many sheep. McIntyre is furious but Ziggler says Rollins has jokes, but they have the title and will defeat him. McIntyre says he has a challenge: fight him tonight. Rollins accepts, but warns him that he’s a “BAAd man.” McIntyre charges, but Rollins gets out of the ring and smiles at him.

Later tonight, we’ll see Finn Balor and Bobby Roode take on Elias and Constable Corbin. The B-Team is dressed like The Deleters of Worlds. Curtis Axel thinks Bo Dallas is actually Bray Wyatt – to be fair, the real life brothers are quite similar looking when Bo has the beard. Coming up next, Matt Hardy takes on Bo Dallas.

*Commercial Break*

The B-Team make their way to the ring, then talk in character as Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt. Dallas nails his real life brother perfectly, talking about a nice cajun BBQ. The Deleters of Worlds appear on the screen and say the time for fun and games is over. Bray Wyatt says laughter is contagious, but so is fear. These two have been infected. They have the cure. At Extreme Rules, they will eat and delete them. Wyatt asks, “Why wait for Sunday when…we’re here?”

The lights go out, and when they come back on, The Deleters of Worlds are standing behind them in the ring. Axel and Dallas quickly get out of the ring and look nervous.

Matt Hardy W/BRAY WYATT Vs. BO DALLAS W/CURTIS AXEL

Bo Dallas gets in the ring, but Hardy quickly tackles him to the corner and shoulders away at him. Hardy bounces him off the turnbuckles a number of times. The Revival are seen watching backstage. Hardy wrenches the arm and applies a hammerlock. Dallas gets out, but Hardy quickly knocks him out of the ring. Hardy then gives Dallas a suplex on the floor.

*Commercial Break*

We come back from the break to see Hardy beating down Dallas. They botch a snapmare and Hardy keeps a neck vice applied. They show a promo for Asuka vs. Carmella at Extreme Rules. Back to live action, Dallas fights up, but Hardy stops him. Hardy whips him under the bottom rope. Dallas’ head bounced off the bottom rope before he falls out of the ring.

Hardy goes outside chomping his teeth. Hardy then viciously clotheslines Dallas at ringside. Hardy then gets him to his feet and turns him inside out with a hard whip into the barricade. Dallas soon boots him back, but Hardy comes back with a Side Effect attempt on the steel steps. They get in the ring, and Hardy hits the Side Effect. Hardy hits a second Side Effect and signals for the end. Hardy goes for a suplex out of the ring to the floor, but Dallas fights it. Curtis Axel distracts him, so Bray Wyatt takes him out. Dallas then hits a twisting neckbreaker off the top rope for the win.

Winner: bo Dallas

The B-Team celebrates wildly until the lights go out. The Deleters of Worlds are then shown at ringside. They’ve clearly had enough playtime, as they attack The B-Team. Wyatt lays out Axel with a one-armed slam while Hardy hits Dallas with a Twist of Fate.

Backstage, Bobby Lashley is interviewed by Renee Young. Bobby Lashley says he respects everyone he gets in the ring with, but he has no respect for Roman Reigns. Lashley doesn’t like the way he walks or talks, but he does like that he wants to fight. Lashley says after Extreme Rules, Reigns won’t be walking. Believe that.

Later tonight, Seth Rollins will face Drew McIntyre! Tyler Breeze gives his t-shirts to Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan, but they tear them up.  Liv Morgan will face Ember Moon, next.

*Commercial Break*

We see more Bayley/Sasha Banks therapy but we can’t hear the dialogue. The announcers talk over them, saying they don’t seem to realise how imperative it is that they get alone.

The announcers show a graphic of Ronda Rousey being inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame. We then see replays of Alexa Bliss’ attack on Nia Jax with a Kendo stick. Alexa does a selfie promo backstage, saying the biggest joy of her life was hearing that Kendo stick hit Nia’s flesh over and again. She says that was just a taste of what’s to come on Sunday, and best of all, Ronda Rousey will be ringside for when it happens.

Ember Moon makes her way to the ring. Her opponent, Liv Morgan is out second.

Ember Moon VS LIV MORGAN W/SARAH LOGAN

They start off with a lock-up and trade waistlocks before Moon takes her down. Morgan takes a moment to talk strategy with Logan in the corner. Ember pulls Morgan into the ring, but Morgan quickly gets away. Moon goes for a plancha, but lands on her feet when Morgan and Logan move out of the way. The heels look taken aback as we head to the break.

*Commercial Break*

Back from the break, we see Morgan bulldog Ember on her face for a two count. Morgan applies a straightjacket stretch and holds it on for a bit. Moon fights up with Morgan on her back, and Moon falls back onto her. Moon sidesteps a big boot, but Morgan does a matrix-like bend under a clothesline to slam Moon down.

Ember comes back with a head-scissor into the turnbuckle. Moon hits a snapmare and sweeps the feet before kneeing her. Moon hits a fallaway slam, and Moon kips up. Moon then punches Logan off the apron. Morgan rolls Moon up, but Ember gets out and gets a jackknife pin for the win.

Winner: Ember Moon

Finn Balor is interviewed backstage by Renee Young. She asks what Balor thinks about Constable Corbin making fun of Finn’s size repeatedly. Before Finn can answer, Bobby Roode walks-up and says he and Finn are cut from the same cloth; good-looking men, great abs, nice hair. And there is no-one better in the ring than Finn Balor. He says tonight they will be…and Renee says Glorious. Roode says no, she screwed-up the softball, they’ll be victorious. Although, now that she mentions it, they will also be glorious! Balor says he loves it when Roode does that. And Corbin can say whatever he wants but they’re men who get their talking done in the ring.

*Commercial Break*

Back from the break and Kevin Owens is spraying cologne in Kurt Angle’s office. Owens says it smells in the office. Angle says it must be left over from the toilet incident last week. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre walk in. Angle says if McIntyre loses to Seth Rollins tonight, he’s banned from ringside at Extreme Rules. Ziggler is not happy. Owens says this is Angle playing favorites. McIntyre agrees to the stipulation, and they walk off.

We return live to the ring, where Elias is sitting on a stool in the center of the ring. Elias greets the crowd, plays a riff, and tells them it’s been two weeks since he’s performed. That can feel like a lifetime, but there’s a reason. Elias says he has been in a studio recording his debut album, which the audience cheers for. Elias says it is real and happening because of one universal truth that WWE stands for Walk With Elias! Elias sings about Bobby Roode and Finn Balor having the personality of a toilet seat. Elias says he can’t stand Boston and wants to punch the face of everyone with a Boston accent. A loud “You suck” chant fires up. Elias says he’s beginning to sense that they don’t appreciate him for all that he is. Elias says his friend Tom Brady warned him about this. Brady told him to pretend to like them. Elias cannot do it anymore. Fortunately someone appreciates him for all he is. Kurt Angle can learn a few things from this man: Constable Corbin.

Constable Baron Corbin makes his entrance and asks for a tune. Corbin wants to play a lullaby for Finn Balor. Corbin trips over the word “lullaby.” Corbin sings a version of Itsy Bitsy Spider and criticises Balor. Bad stuff all around. The babyfaces make their entrances as we take to the break.

*Commercial Break*

Elias & Constable Corbin vs. Finn Balor & Bobby Roode

We join this match in progress to see Corbin punching away at Roode in the corner. Roode turns him around and chops the chest before wrenching the arm. Corbin quickly knees him and tags in Elias. Roode takes him down with a drop-toe-hold and applies a chin lock. Elias tries to roll out, but Roode keeps the head hooked. Elias fights up and whips him off, but Roode shoulder blocks him down. They hit the ropes, and Elias tries to leapfrog him, but Roode counters with an inverted atomic drop. Roode chops him, but has a whip to the corner reversed. Balor picks up a head of steam, but Corbin sweeps the feet. Elias then sends Balor throat-first into the ropes. The heels are back in charge as we take another break.

*Commercial Break*

Balor fights up and tries to make a tag, but Elias stops him. Balor boots him and knocks him out of the ring, but Corbin is tagged in and stops Balor from making the tag. Balor kicks him in the face and gets him in the ring, but Corbin crotches him on the top rope. Corbin then charges Roode, who sends him shoulder-first into the ring post. Roode hits Elias with a spinebuster. Balor is still recovering on the outside when Corbin hits Roode with the End of Days for the win.

Winners: Constable Corbin & Elias

We see Angle and Owens backstage again. Owens is offering Angle a bite of his food when Braun Strowman walks-in. KO freaks-out and Angle tells him to calm down, he invited him here. Angle says they can’t keep doing this, so on Sunday, Owens will face Strowman inside a steel cage. Suffice to say, Owens isn’t happy. Strowman starts sniffing the air and says Owens stinks of fear, then sprays him with air freshener before leaving.

Later tonight, Seth Rollins Vs. Drew McIntyre and if Drew loses he is banned from ringside on Sunday.

*Commercial Break*

We see another therapy session with Bayley and Sasha and they’re at each others throats. The announcers say the two of them will have to give Kurt Angle a progress report tonight.

We see replays of Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns’ big brawl at the open of the show. Renee Young is backstage with Roman Reigns. She asks him if the brawl tonight was reckless, to which Roman says not at all. He set out to provoke Lashley and now he respects him. He says he saw Bobby’s fire tonight but Lashley will need a lot more than that to beat him on Sunday. He says Lashley needs more than a physique, so on Sunday he will beat Lashley and move on to better things. Lashley? He’ll go be the guy…somewhere else.
