Vince McMahon changed his mind out of nowhere canceling the multi-man main event at Extreme Rules that was set to determine the new #1 contender for the Universal Title. Brock Lesnar took a brunt of the blame on television but that isn’t the case because Lesnar is just sitting at home waiting to see what WWE is going to do next.

Dave Meltzer discussed this current angle with Lesnar and why WWE is going through these efforts. He said it all boils down to Roman Reigns in the end as he continued to explain the situation during Wrestling Observer Radio.

“The Brock Lesnar thing so obviously it’s a storyline. The storyline is exactly what you think it is. It’s an attempt to get Roman Reigns cheered that will probably work as well as every one of these attempts for the last three years, four years has done.”

“People are really upset with Brock. They are buying that Brock’s holding out and he’s not going to drop the championship and he may leave. I mean I see a lot of people real upset about that and it’s like that’s the storyline they want you to be upset.”

In the end, WWE is going to keep trying to get Roman Reigns over by any means possible. Hopefully, it works but it looks like people will be cheering for anyone except for Reigns.
