On today’s episode of the E&C Pod of Awesomeness Edge and Christian will answer some fan questions.

The first listener asks Edge and Christian if it mattered to them which Tag Team Title belt they held during their Title runs. Christian informs that during their original run with the classic WWE Tag Team Titles, one belt had a white scuff on it and that’s the belt that Edge wore all the time. Even after they were passed the belts by the referee at the end of matches, they’d look for the scuff to make sure Edge had the right one before they’d lift the belts in celebration.

The next listener asks Edge and Christian what they’d eat prior to matches. Edge informs that he tried not to eat before matches at all. Christian agrees, adding that he stopped eating around 3PM in the afternoon and then he’d just wander around the arena until showtime drinking black coffee.

Edge and Christian are asked if they kept their ring gear from their WWE runs. Edge informs that he saved most of his gear and has it all tucked away safely for his daughters when they get older. He informs that the only time he ever traded gear with an opponent was after his WrestleMania 24 match with The Undertaker. He gave Undertaker his kick pads and tights and he got Undertaker’s gloves in return. Christian says he didn’t save all of his gear and didn’t ever really trade gear with an opponent, and that’s something he thinks he’ll regret in the years to come.

A listener asks Edge and Christian if they’ve ever been starstruck. Edge admits to being starstruck the first time he met Hulk Hogan. Hogan was a larger than life entity and the reason he got into the business, so that was a very cool moment for him. In addition, Hogan couldn’t have been nicer, down to earth guy so that was a bonus.

Another listener writes into the show and asks Christian who he thinks would have won a match between TNA Champion Christian and WWE World Champion Christian. He informs that he went to TNA initially because he needed to know if he could work on top and carry a Title run. After proving to himself that he could, he felt much better as a performer when he came back to WWE. As a result, he thinks World Champion Christian would defeat TNA Champion Christian in a match.

A listener asks Edge to talk a little bit about his feud with Shawn Michaels in 2004-05. Edge notes that his character was basically an angry guy who felt he should be World Champion at that time. Michaels was basically challenged by WWE creative to get Edge over to the next level, and if Michaels couldn’t do it it probably wasn’t going to happen. Edge thanks Michaels for that, adding that he loved working with him.

Edge and Christian are asked if they play WWE video games. They both inform that they don’t play WWE video games because they don’t really have time. Christian used to play video games before the birth of his daughter but he was never really interested in the WWE games because he worked as a wrestler 5 days a week and needed a break from it during his time off.

The next listener asks Edge and Christian which agents they enjoyed working with. Edge notes that Michael P.S. Hayes and Arn Anderson are both very good at their job and he enjoyed working with them. Christian informs that he would seek out Pat Patterson. He loved working with Patterson because he never got upset if you disagreed with him, instead he’d want to have a conversation to find out why. He also liked Fit Finley because he let you do your thing in the ring but would add one or two critical things which took the matches to another level.

Another listener writes into the show and asks Edge and Christian if they ever had a tag team name prior to simply being known as Edge and Christian. They inform that initially they were called the “Canadian Rocky’s: Adam and Jay”. They thought that sounded like “Canadian Hockey” and they weren’t thrilled with it. Before their time in WWE they wanted to call themselves the “Cutting Crew” which was inspired by the Blade Runners.

A listener writes into the show and asks them if they would have made it in the wrestling business without each other. Christian thinks they would have, but the support system they created for each other was crucial and things certainly would have been different if they didn’t have each other. Edge agrees, thinking they both would have eventually made it but it would have been quite different.

Edge and Christian are asked if they prefer the traditional ring or the 6-sided ring. Edge says he prefers the traditional ring and Christian agrees. Christian gets that TNA were trying to do something different but doesn’t think the 6-sided ring was different enough to accomplish their goals. In addition, the 6-sided ring was awkward to work in and it was very hard unless you were right in the middle of it.

Edge and Christian are asked to give their opinions on Drew McIntyre. Christian loves him personally and professionally, noting that he’s a great dude who loves the business. He thinks WWE had McIntyre penned as a top guy during his first run, but McIntyre didn’t really understand how to be that back then. McIntyre left and was able to find himself, and now Christian thinks he’s going to be one of the top guys for a long time to come.

Edge has never been a fan of labeling someone, “the face of WWE” but that’s something that people love to talk about. McIntyre looks like a stone-cold killer right now, and he seems to have matured physically and mentally. He’s showing confidence in the ring and on the mic and seems to have it all right now. Edge thinks McIntyre is shaping up to be someone that the company can go to in the months and years to come.
