Welcome to Ringside News’ coverage of Monday Night Raw!

Last night’s Backlash PPV was…one to forget. The show was overlong and by the end the fans had completely checked-out. Roman Reigns overcame Samoa Joe in a boring main event that Joe should have won. Ignoring SmackDown Live’s matches, tonight will see the fallout from the Raw matches. Reigns now has some momentum back on his side and he wants to challenge Lesnar again, something nobody wants to see. Hopefully we see a different feud emerge tonight.

The best match on Backlash, was by far and away, Seth Rollins Vs. The Miz. Rollins has looked like a megastar the last few months and last night’s match further cemented that. The match was awesome and the fans were behind it the whole way. I expect to see Rollins and Balor continue their feud starting tonight, although I’d much rather see Rollins move up the card to greater things. He’s red hot right now and WWE should capitalise on that, although if Strowman is anything to go by, that won’t happen.

Money In The Bank is our next destination, and tonight we will get two Money In The Bank Ladder Matches announced. I suspect these will be the male and female ladder matches, although there has been rumours of a tag team ladder match – that seems a little like overkill for one PPV, although I do like the idea of a team holding the briefcase(s).

All that and more on tonight’s Raw, so strap in, download the Ringside Talk app and enjoy the show!

Raw opens with General Manager Kurt Angle’s making his way to the ring. There are ladders on the stage, meaning Money in the Bank is en route.

Angle welcomes the crowd to RAW. Angle reminds us that he has been part of the WWE family for almost 20 years. The one thing that separates this company from any other form of entertainment is they never stop. They’ve gone from WrestleMania to the Superstar Shakeup, to the Greatest Royal Rumble, and the dual-branded Backlash. Now we’re on to Money in the Bank. There will be two Money in the Bank matches for the men and women, compiling both brands – so four men from Raw and four from SmackDown for their respective match and the same for the women. These matches will be great. On RAW, they settle it in the ring. There will be two Money in the Bank Qualifying matches. The first will be a triple threat with Ember Moon, Ruby Riott, and Sasha Banks. The other triple threat match will have Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, and Sami Zayn.

Braun Strowman’s music hits, and he comes out to a big reaction – the fans chant, “Get these hands.” Strowman asks Angle if he ever told him about the time he was a kid and all the boys in the neighborhood wanted to build a treehouse. They did all the work and they never asked him for help. When they were done, all he heard about was the handshake you needed to get up there. You know what he did? Angle asks if he destroyed the treehouse. To which Strowman says he waited until they were all in the treehouse and took the whole damn tree down. Corny story that tried to evoke old Steve Austin tales. Angle says Strowman has been on a roll and deserves to be in the match but he’s interrupted…

Kevin Owens’ music hits, and he comes out to the stage. Owens and Zayn were beaten by Strowman and Bobby Lashley last night. Owens says if anyone deserves to be in the ladder match, it’s him. Owens has only been on RAW a few weeks, but he’s the RAW MVP. Owens anchors all the top segments and people chant his name. Owens respects the rules. Last night at Backlash, the wrong man was pinned at Backlash. Last night’s decision should be reversed. They should be declared the winners, meaning Strowman loses and isn’t on a roll. The only thing Strowman deserves is to be put into a giant corner to reflect on being a very bad monster. Angle says he can’t just put Owens in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Angle was about to say Strowman is in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match. Owens says he deserves that match. Strowman says the only thing Owens deserves is to “get these hands”. Owens backs away and says the first RAW superstar to enter the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is Kevin Owens. Owens reminds Angle that Stephanie McMahon is watching. Angle says he’s decided to put Strowman in a qualifying match against Owens… and that match starts right now! Owens is furious but Strowman smiles at him.

With that we go to commerical. Table For 3 returns to the Network tonight.

Later tonight, a Triple Threat Qualifying Match between Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Roman Reigns. And a women’s Triple Threat also, between Ruby Riott, Sasha Banks, and Ember Moon.

*Commercial Break*

Roman Reigns is interviewed backstage by Mike Rome. Rome asks what is his mindset going into his match tonight? Reigns says he’s the uncrowned Universal Champion. WWE management doesn’t agree and he is sick of it. Reigns can’t control the backstage politics. When he’s in the ring, that’s where he silences the haters. Just ask Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar, and Samoa Joe. Reigns wouldn’t want to be Sami Zayn or Finn Balor. He’s pissed off, which means he’ll dominate and win. Reigns is going to take back what’s his: the Universal Championship. Oh boy.

We get a phone promo from Bayley, who says she can’t wait to hug the briefcase.

We see Breezango backstage in their office, and Fandango says they’ve been briefed on a new case… the briefcase. However they’re not sure how to get it.

Kurt Angle is backstage with Goldust. Goldust says he’s only ever met one man he didn’t want to fight — Million Dollar Baby, 2004. Angle asks what that means. Goldust says he wants to be in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. It’s his quest for the ultimate gold. Jinder Mahal walks in and asks why he’s not in the triple threat. More importantly, why is Roman Reigns? Reigns has received many opportunities while he has received none. Angle says he hasn’t won a match since being on RAW. Angle says if he can have a good showing against Chad Gable, he’ll consider Money in the Bank. Goldust is in the background laughing.

Riott kicks her down and sets up for something, but Moon comes out of nowhere and hits them with a double Eclipse! Moon pins Riott for the win!

Winner Ember Moon

Ember Moon has qualified for the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Honestly, it’s a shame because I figured Ruby would win the whole dang thing. I prefer heel briefcase holders.

Later tonight, we’ll have another triple threat Money in the Bank Qualifier with Roman Reigns taking on Finn Balor and Sami Zayn. Coming up next, we’ll have an exclusive interview with Bobby Lashley.

*Commercial Break*

Ember Moon is stopped by Charly Caruso. She’s asked about being an underdog. Moon says she’s “over the moon.” Moon says she’s proved she’s skill, honor, and heart. She’ll rise to every challenge. She’ll take that Money in the Bank contract.

It’s time for the sitdown interview with Bobby Lashley. Renee Young asks who Bobby Lashley the man is. Lashley says he’s blessed to have a great family. That’s what he’s all about. Lashley talks about being close to his three older sisters. They used to tie him to a tree in the woods and leave him there for hours because they thought it was funny. Another one tried to kill him with a broom. His one sister used to have a security towel, but over the years it got dirty. A bully took the towel, so he found the bully and shoved the towel down his throat. His last sister was daddy’s girl. She used to carry his father’s helmet. Lashley took it and shows a scar that he has from doing that. Lashley says he has an extended family with the WWE Universe. They’re going to have so much fun. Lashley then says he loves his sisters.

We see Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens backstage. Zayn says there is a cloud of misery raining on their parade of triumph. Kevin Owens says he’s the victim tonight whereas Zayn has a nice triple threat match to deal with. They argue about what happened at Backlash when Zayn slapped him in the face. Zayn says they need to focus on the future and seize a position of power. They need to become the Universal Champion, which is made easier by winning the Money in the Bank contract. Zayn asks if he’s with him. Owens says he is.

Sunil Singh introduces Jinder Mahal to the ring. He’ll be in action against Chad Gable, next

*Commercial Break*

Chad Gable comes to the ring and I guess it’s time for more of WWE’s 50/50 booking, seeing as Gable won last time.

Jinder Mahal Vs. Chad Gable

The bell rings, and Gable quickly gets the better of Mahal. Mahal reverses a whip, but Gable slingshots over him and takes him down. Gable controls him with a front facelock. Gable knocks him back, but Mahal knocks him to the floor.

Elias knows so many truths, such as how WWE stands for Walk With Elias. He is on another planet than anyone else. Last night, he was interrupted by pancakes, conga lines, and that glorious fraud, Bobby Roode. Elias figured Long Island would love Bobby Roode, which is where Billy Joel is from. Elias figured they like talentless hacks. If Elias wants to interrupt his singing, he’ll rip out his vocal cords. Then he’ll go on to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. A “RUSEV DAY” chant breaks out. Elias says he’s not here tonight. Elias tells them to silence their cell phones, hold the applause, and shut their mouths.
