WrestleMania 34 is in the history books. It was a divisive show and one that has undeniably changed the current landscape in the WWE. Fans will now be turning their attention, however, to the coming year, and what surprises the next 12 months will hold.

Last year, following Mania 33, it was instantly reported that Lesnar would be facing Reigns at Mania 34, and low and behold, look what happened. Clearly, the company like to have an idea in place of where they want to go the following year, and with that in mind, let’s take a look at five potential matches that could headline WrestleMania 35.

5: Brock Lesnar Vs Roman Reigns

While it still remains unclear as to how long Brock Lesnar has resigned with the WWE for (most rumors suggest it is only until August) we still shouldn’t rule out the Beast Incarnate being around by the time next year’s WrestleMania rolls around.

Whether we like or not, there is also a fair chance that Roman Reigns will be in the main event of next year’s show. Reigns has been in four straight WrestleMania main events, and regardless of what the fans think, Vince McMahon clearly sees him as the biggest star in the company.

This match sets itself up. Reigns was decimated by Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, and the two men’s first match was interrupted by Seth Rollins and his Money in the Bank briefcase. The company is very fond of redemption storylines, and there is every chance that the company will play off Reign’s emphatic defeat so that when he finally, inevitably, dethrones Lesnar, it will be, in their eyes at least, a huge moment.

This year’s Mania main event has been hugely divisive, and the company would be wise to avoid going with the same match for next year’s event. It’s the WWE though, so don’t rule it out.

4: AJ Styles Vs Daniel Bryan

We’re all allowed to dream, aren’t we? While AJ Styles’ match with Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34 never really lived up to its hype, Daniel Bryan is a much more proven performer than Shinsuke in the WWE, and the match that these two men give us on Smackdown was excellent.

Add in a world title, and a main event slot at WrestleMania, and you are onto something special. Bryan’s return has been one of the best WWE moments of the year so far, but the company would be wise to take it easy and not just strap a rocket to his back from day one.

A long build towards regaining the title will benefit Bryan, whose initial success was founded on him fighting against the odds. Having Bryan feud with several heels over the course of the next 9 months, ultimately leading to a Rumble victory and a Mania showdown with AJ Styles would be the perfect way to do this.

The company would also be wise not to just burn out all of their ‘dream match’ options straight away with Bryan. The company could even switch him to Raw until the Rumble, just to keep him away from AJ. This is a money match for the WWE, and it’s one they would be crazy not to cash in on.

3: The Undertaker Vs John Cena

The Undertaker’s feud with John Cena, which culminated in a 3-minute squash match of Cena at WrestleMania, has to be one of the weirdest WWE feuds, featuring two main event stars, of all time.

Cena spent weeks leading up to Mania calling out the Deadman, only to have to go home disappointed every time. This all led to a bizarre segment at WrestleMania, which ended in Taker coming out and make very quick work of the 16-time world champ.

There is no way this is the last we have seen of this feud, however, and the two men are likely to clash once again in New York. Both men are nearing the ends of their careers and if one, if not both of these performers, decides to put their careers on the line at Mania, then there is no chance that this isn’t going on last.

There is a fair chance that the company may recycle the Shawn Michaels’ storyline from WrestleMania 25/26 here, with Cena becoming obsessed with the idea of defeating The Undertaker. So much so, that he puts his whole career on the line.

These two men are icons of the business and there is every chance that one of them, likely The Undertaker, will be leaving the company at next year’s show, if that is the case, then it has to close the night.

2: Roman Reigns Vs Seth Rollins Vs Dean Ambrose

There is not as much rhyme or reason for this match as there are for the other four entries on this list, but basically, I just really want to see this match again.

The Shield have had more impact on the current roster than anybody else, with all three men going on be grand-slam champions.

The three men have met in the ring once before, at Battleground in 2016, but the match and the build-up were hindered by Roman Reigns’ suspension at the time. The match was still excellent, however, and it would be fascinating to see what they could do on an even bigger stage, with an even better build.

If the company did decide to go down this route, then a slow build is a must. This one isn’t likely, but at such a historic Mania, seeing these three men, who are hugely responsible for the product we have today, be rewarded, would be a nice touch.

1: Ronda Rousey Vs Charlotte

Since the end of WrestleMania 34 this past weekend, the internet has been buzzing with rumors that this is the planned main event of WrestleMania 35.

The company have made plenty of historic moments for the women’s division over the past 12 months, and having them headline WrestleMania would be the biggest they could offer. Ronda Rousey’s decision to sign with the company has been a major force for change in the WWE, and with Charlotte toppling Asuka’s streak at WrestleMania, this is certainly the most logical time to pull that trigger.

Rousey gave one of the most surprising performances on Sunday night, and if she continues to grow in the ring, there is no reason why she won’t be able to compete in such a big match in 12 months time. Charlotte is one of the finest performers in the world right now, so it stands to reason that she would make the perfect dance partner for Rousey on such an occasion.
