Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are set to headline WrestleMania 34 this year because that’s the direction that the company is taking. So be prepared to feel the urge to cheer Reigns during Mania and don’t fight it either because Vince McMahon really doesn’t want you to.

But the idea was brought up on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE and UFC could have very well been playing the fans this whole time.

While Lesnar could very well be taking off back to MMA, the leaking of that knowledge could have been done to cause resentment with the fans so Lesnar might receive the same reception he did during WrestleMania XX with his god-awful match with Goldberg where neither guy could get over because both were exiting.

But with Roman Reigns sticking around because he’s the Big Dog, maybe fans will have no other choice but pop when Reigns pulls down the win as Dave Meltzer explained:

“All I can tell you is that I’ve been told since day one that he’s coming [to UFC] but you just never know. Even with Dana saying it that doesn’t mean 100%. I don’t think Dana is saying that to work with WWE and shock people with Brock wins. I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

It was mentioned by Bryan Alvarez that Dana White leaking that selfie with Brock Lesnar could have always been an orchestration between the two companies so Mania turns out the way Vince McMahon wants it to.

“Look, WWE and UFC talk and that may have been part of the deal like, look, get it out before the match because we want Roman Reigns cheered and if Dana White goes out and says, ‘look we got him,’ that’s the best shot we got. I’m not saying it’s going to work, but it’s the best shot.”

Therefore it looks like WWE is still doing anything they can do Roman Reigns to get a big pop from the crowd once he wins at WrestleMania.

Or WWE could always swerve the fans and have Lesnar win only to drop the WWE Universal Title before he really takes off back to UFC. Because after all, Brock Lesnar has already worked all of his required dates, and WWE most definitely has the extra money to pay him for another quick match just so he can lay down after taking a spear from The Big Dog.
