Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Daniel Bryan was originally scheduled to have his re-evaluation done on March 27th before SmackDown in Pittsburgh. This would have only given WWE two weeks to work on creative plans for WrestleMania in the event that Bryan was unable to get cleared.

The belief is that if Maroon didn’t clear Bryan,  creative would begin working on plans to write him off as the SmackDown GM role ahead of his contract expiring in September. It was likely Vince McMahon’s call to have the evaluation moved up a week so that they could figure out the WrestleMania plans and start building whatever angles they needed to set up a match with Bryan at WrestleMania.
