X-Pac opens today’s show by speaking about his old friend Curt Hennig on the anniversary of his death. He mentions that he was in a bad place at the time of Hennig’s death, which made the news even worse. He was in such poor mental and physical shape at the time that he couldn’t even make it to Hennig’s funeral because he knew he would have been a distraction if he would have went. He says that he loved Hennig and he always will.

X-Pac congratulates Ivory on her announced induction into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2018. He mentions that Ivory led the way for the women during the attitude era, and her role in the business dates back to the original GLOW series nearly three decades ago. She was a terrific person and a great in-ring competitor who’s certainly deserving of this Hall of Fame induction.

He informs that he spoke negatively about Ivory during some shoot interviews he did years ago. This was at a time when he was in a bad place and he would do the interviews for money. He says he wishes he could take those words back, but that’s who he was at that time and he simply needs to accept that and move on.

X-Pac comments on Dolph Ziggler’s return to WWE. Apparently Ziggler signed a new contract with WWE that pays him more money and includes a stipulation which allows Ziggler to leave WWE shows after his role on the show is done. X-Pac says this stipulation made him chuckle because he hadn’t heard of it before.

WWE made it mandatory for all talents to stay until the end of the show several years ago, after noticing that a lot of young talents were leaving early when they really could have benefitted from staying and watching the main event guys. He completely understands why WWE would introduce this policy but on the other hand, he understands Ziggler’s point as well. Obviously Ziggler has been around for a while and WWE clearly had no issue granting his request in this case.

X-Pac mentions that some people might say that Ziggler should be sticking around at shows to talk to the younger talents and help them improve. He says that he loves Ziggler, but Ziggler has never been that guy during his time in WWE. To be completely honest, he’s not sure who younger talents would go to nowadays for advice, with Jericho, Cena and other veteran talents working part-time schedules.

He also notes that Ziggler has been talking about leaving WWE for the last several years, but he continues to resign with the company because they offer him more money. X-Pac believes Ziggler’s biggest issue with WWE is his character’s creative, and unfortunately he’ll never get creative control of his character. X-Pac fears that even while making more money, Ziggler will never be happy in WWE without some form of creative control over his character.

X-Pac informs that the new season of Lucha Underground will be filmed at a new location in downtown LA. He adds that he was actually contacted about a month ago by Lucha Underground officials, who offered him a role on the new season. He was interested in taking the offer, but Lucha Underground officials had an issue with the fact that he was signed to a Legends contract with WWE.

He reached out to Triple H to ask if there would be any issue if he worked for Lucha Underground, and Triple H said it was completely fine. However, Lucha Underground officials weren’t as happy with the situation. They revoked the offer and that was the end of it.

X-Pac mentions that Booker T and Corey Graves came out this past week, informing that their “heat” was a work all along. X-Pac saw this coming a mile away because he couldn’t understand how these two professionals would ever let their issues with each other reach such a boiling point. He points out that a lot of fans were worked by this angle, but fans should be happy about that. It’s fun to be worked, and that’s what the business is all about.

X-Pac mentions that UFC’s Joe Rogan thinks Floyd Mayweather versus CM Punk would be a great MMA matchup. X-Pac agrees with this due to their comparable level of MMA experience. He thinks these two men could sell a lot of tickets and PPVs for UFC.

That sums up today’s episode of X-Pac 1, 2, 360. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
