Speaking about the tag team match on Smackdown Live between The New Day and Rusev/English, Taz says this match was all for the kids, because he has no other explanation for why these guys were rolling around the ring in Christmas costumes. Taz informs that he loves the ‘Rusev Day’ gimmick, and he loves when English sings as well.
He liked the opening segment of the show featuring in-ring promos from Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan. He thinks these guys have great chemistry together, and he’s interested in seeing where this storyline leads. It’s almost as if Shane McMahon is turning heel, but that’s not a guarantee at this point.
Taz thought Charlotte cut a good promo last night, talking about the importance of the Women’s Royal Rumble match. He points out that this was a prime opportunity for Charlotte to turn heel and he thought for a minute that WWE was going to pull the trigger on it, but she stayed the course and cut a straight babyface promo.
Taz thought the Dolph Ziggler promo segment was very cool in the sense that it gave viewers an overview of his career highlights. Taz admits that watching those clips reminded him of just how successful Ziggler has been in his career, and that’s the exact impact WWE was looking to have. He’s a fan of what Ziggler is doing creatively right now as well, leaving the Title in the ring and storming out.
