Christian opens today’s show recalling a time he botched a promo while on live television. He was supposed to say a specific word which would lead to Mick Foley’s music being hit but he couldn’t remember that word. He began sweating and even turned to Edge for assistance but rather than help him, Edge gave him nothing and almost started laughing at him.

Eventually WWE Producers must have realized that his promo was way off track because they hit Foley’s music, and when Foley came out he even called Christian out for forgetting his line. The next day Christian saw Vince McMahon in the back and McMahon told him he did a great job the night before. McMahon said that screwing up a promo is the kiss of death for a babyface, but as a heel it doesn’t matter.

Edge and Christian both agree that it was cool to see the Hart/Flair dynamic played out in a WWE ring again last Tuesday night on Smackdown Live. Both Charlotte and Natalya worked hard and it was emotional watching Charlotte pick up the win in her hometown, followed by her father, Ric, returning to WWE programming to surprise her.

They also both agree that they’re looking forward to Survivor Series because it’s cool to see Triple H, Shane McMahon and Kurt Angle in the same match in 2017. Some people have speculated that Triple H will face Kurt Angle at WrestleMania, but Christian mentions that we might get Angle versus Shane McMahon at ‘Mania after the events that transpired at the end of Smackdown this past week.

Christian thinks Brock Lesnar will defeat A.J. Styles at Survivor Series, but he wishes that there was something on the line in this bout. Edge agrees and suggests that this match should have determined which brand received the main event slot at WrestleMania. Nonetheless, he thinks this match will feature an interesting contrast of styles, and he points out that this is a match that a lot of people thought they’d never see.

Edge thinks The New Day and The Shield are going to have a very entertaining match, but he’s really looking forward to Sheamus/Cesaro versus The Usos. Christian agrees and says that at least The Usos aren’t on the pre-show this time.

Edge and Christian welcome Tommy Dreamer to the show to debate the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling in several different categories.

Play-by-Play Commentators:
Dreamer – Lance Russell, Jim Ross, Joey Styles and Gordon Solie
Edge & Christian – Gorilla Monsoon, Jim Ross, Gordon Solie and Lance Russell

Colour Commentators:
They all agree on Bobby Heenan, Jesse Ventura, Paul Heyman, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler. Edge also points out that Taz was a very underrated colour commentator, who was very good at promoting the wrestlers in the ring.

1980s:
They all agree on Dusty Rhodes, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. Dreamer mentions that his fourth selection would be either Nick Bockwinkel or Jerry Lawler. Christian points out that Harley Race needs to be considered as well, and Edge suggests that there’s a case to be made for either Roddy Piper or Randy Savage.

1990s:
They all agree on The Rock and Steve Austin, but then things get very difficult. You can list Goldberg, Undertaker, Sting, Shawn Michaels or Bret Hart. They decide to narrow it down to Undertaker, Hart and Michaels, to go along with Rock and Austin.

Cruiserweights:
Edge names Rey Mysterio, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger, Danny Hodge and Dean Malenko, and Christian and Dreamer agree with those four names.

ECW:
Dreamer says this is very difficult for him, but they all agree that Paul Heyman, Dreamer, Sabu, Taz, RVD and Shane Douglas deserve mentioning here.

WCW:
They all agree that Sting, Flair, Goldberg, Luger would be WCW’s Mount Rushmore.

Overall:
They all agree on Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin. After that there are a number of names that they can’t choose between. Those names are Andre The Giant, Undertaker, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels.

Edge and Chrstian wrap up this weeks show by discussing the greatest finishing moves of all time. They both agree that the Figure 4 Leg Lock has had a huge influence on the business. Other devastating moves include the DDT, the Tombstone, and the Spear.

That sums up today’s episode of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
